    btw and fwiw: That was planned, which is why Morey had him sign an Exhibit 10. Now he plays for the Vipers to earn his bonus. Has to stay there for 60 days to cash it.

    Based on what Cod said it doesn’t really sound like anything is going to happen. Minny sounds like they have kind of sabotaged the market for Butler and maybe will just take the chance he plays and that he magically gets happier as the season goes on.

    Also, does anyone know who we would have to trade to have strong chance at resigning Butler with the least painful luxury tax consequences? I’m guessing it would have to be Tucker and Gordon and then work whatever magic in the off-season.

    The first sentence need not apply here.

    I go beyond agreeing with you. Not only is it not happening, Morey isn’t so stupid to waste his time in trying to grab Jimmy without giving up EG. That’s not how good negotiators work. There is a difference between starting with a low offer and insulting the other side. The latter is what would happen if you don’t include EG and it is a horrible strategy.
