That Gorgui Dieng contract is scary though. If we did include Knight and take back Dieng, does his play style fit our system as a back up center?

I doubt they are going to trade Jimmy if he is going to stay. They will not be getting better value as it inches closer to February. Thibs is going to ride with him the rest of the way.

I'd change on this if I see either a significant in Capela's defense or if Capela starts shooting the 3 consistently at 36+% on decent volume and FT's at 75+% and becomes a double threat offensively. Or if for some reason the rules of the game changed to favor Capela's style of play more.

Or....I could come off Maker if he doesn't start showing more his this, his third, season.

I'm not unreasonable. Nor dug in so hard I won't adjust. I simply do not view Capela as a difference-maker in our system....until and unless he significantly upgrades his defense or he becomes a 3-point shooter.

 

But then they lose him for nothing. They gave up a lot for just two seasons of Butler.

 

I agree with you but I suspect Thibs is a lot more concerned about keeping his job right now than he is the long term success of the franchise. And if they trade Butler for peanuts they're going to lose and Thibs is going to lose his job.

I don't think they can win even if we give them Gordon and Tucker. Jimmy is right. KAT and Wiggins are soft.

 

If I've learned anything from this whole saga is that Thibs don't give a **** what the owner wants lol. Thibs is a coach first, president of operations second. It's always hard for a coach to have a big picture in mind, they make poor decisions. I expect them to lose Jimmy for nothing.

Hopefully I am wrong, I would like for them to trade him east or to us.
