This move had to be made. The Rockets went from 12 to 1, to 7 to 1 to win a Championship.I dont care about money or picks involved in trade.I am a fan. All i care about is results. The future will reveal how this trade is viewed.The Rockets on run it back, did not have a real chance for a Championship. This move gives the Rockets a better chance.That is all a true fan can ask for.

 

Why do I get the feeling people are going to want to act like this is something new? Harden wanted the CP3 trade as well. When superstars are involved, there's always a conversation and them wanting to push for a trade. Lebron's been doing it, Kawhi just pulled a power play and Harden just asked and received. Let's look at this rationally.

This wasn't just about 'making a splash' with a new name

1) You ALWAYS try and take care of your cornerstone star player
2) Sounds like CP went off and made things uncomfortable/irreparable between the two of them
3) If your marquee player is now uncomfortable with his battery mate, do you take the risk of your star player bailing on you
when he gets a chance, or do you make changes around him?
4) James and WB are still good buds from their OKC days and they were a pretty effective pair (WC finals against GSW).
Sounds like James had been in contact with Russ.
5) WB wants out of OKC and James is uncomfortable with CP. A perfect match
6) Result: 2 birds with one stone

Sure, Harden used his leverage and the owner is trying to appease.

How do we know it was an over power move? I don't believe it. I think a billion dollar businessman would take wise council from his advisors. If Morey was strongly against it, I don't think tilman would force the issue. But everyone hates tilman, maybe he is a devil in work place but I doubt it.
