First of all, does this deserve its own thread? **** no, but neither does Taco Hell vs. White Castle, so spread your lips wide and blow me.

Now on to topic. I understand these foods are different things, but their flavor profile is remarkably similar. Greek Yogurt is so, so, so, so, SO MUCH BETTER FOR YOU. Why do people ever eat sour cream if there is an option?

I am not a chef, and I am sure there are specific uses when Greek Yogurt could not be substituted, but given the tradeoffs, generally it seems like an absolute no brainer.

    Now commence the trolling...

Taco Bell v White Castle is very important subject matter to hungry teens, drunks and stoners everywhere!

I'm all in on Greek Yogurt. I never buy sour cream anymore and use plain yogurt for not just things I would use sour cream for but also for many other things. I'll whip in a table spoon into salsa when I have chips in salsa to get more protein.

Greek yogurt for me. But then I never really used sour cream much. If Taco Gel or somebody put it on whatever food I was eating, I was ok with it. But nowadays I'll eat greek yogurt with fruit or put it on lentils, etc. Loaded with protein like a steak and not sugary syrup like Yoplait. lol. I haven't tried making a dip with it or really used it in cooking though there are tons of recipes out there that do.

Greek yogurt is quite vague. There’s like a million different variations in terms of brands, plain whole, low-fat, non fat, and pretty much every flavor you can imagine. When it comes specifically for a sour cream replacement or comparison it can’t be that nonfat bs.

    This ones great

Greek Yogurt and Sour Creme are not substitutes for one another. Not comparable foods

Yeah I came to say this. This is an odd poll because these are never used interchangeably.

That said, I'd sooner give up my reproductive organs than I'd give up Fage 5% full fat yogurt.

Mexican Crema is awesome; Sour Creme has it uses; Greek Yogurt is also awesome, heavy cream/half&half/whole milk has it's culinary uses.

Ricotta cheese is amazing paired with tomato sauce. Cottage cheese is deserving to be fed to dogs, dogs that you don't like all that well.

    What was your question again?

When my dad was undergoing chemo I made sure he knew that I would always be by his side through the hard times. When he then proceeded to order cottage cheese and peaches for breakfast, I left immediately, changed my last name, and relocated to a different state.

My grandmother loved that exact ****, and I had no words other than "MMMMMM....That looks good." "Sure you don't want some nursing home enchiladas, or cornbread or anything?"

Greek yogurt has more in common with spackling paste than sour cream. Carry on.

Greek Yogurt is such an easy substitute for Sour Cream I don't see why more people dont use it. You can't taste the difference. Sour Cream's flavor is so slight it doesn't matter.
