Panera has pretty good soup and a very nice bread bowl. I don't know how many there are around Houston, but Corner Bakery has great soup in bread bowls, as does McAllister's deli.

Actually, most of the pho places have AWESOME french bread for like an extra buck a loaf. Dipping it in the soup is yummy.

George let me tell you something . When I find something I like I stick with it . From 1973 to 1982 I ate the exact same lunch everyday . Turkey chili in a bowl made out of bread . Bread bowl George First you eat the chili then you eat the bowl . There's nothing more satisfying than looking down after lunch and seeing nothing but a table .

Quiznos had a pretty decent bread bowl when I worked there years ago. I'm not sure if they still do that, though...

Why not just get a big, steaming hot bowl of Texas Chili?

The words "great" and "black bean soup" should never be used together. Yuck.

What restaurant in the Houston area serves real Texas chili? The only decent chili I've been able to find out is at JCI.
