'something's in the works' to trigger a police state

I have been saying this is possible ever since Bush went on the air at the midterm elections saying how proud he was that this country had elections even in a time of war.

For another President that might have been Rah Rah Jingoism. For a dullard like Bush it meant he at least considered trying not to have elections..and someone explained to him they couldn't get away with it. Even though he is still the Decider. Then someone gave him a cookie.

 

If you had told me 10 years ago about FISA violations and Gitmo and Homeland Security and all the crap that has happened since 9/11 I would probably have said that they had made a significant strides already.

I agree that there will never be any sort of sudden shift. Instead they will introduce the police state incrementally and wave the flag and pontificate about protectintg freedom and democracy the entire time.

I swear, sometimes I feel like looking into moving to Papua New Guinea.

I think the entire country (save 20% who make up the religious conservative freaks) wants these fools out and if they do anything to try to extend their stay there will be hell to pay.

The day this country becomes a police state is the day I either leave or stand up and fight. But I won't live as an oppressed individual, and thankfully, I think there's about 100 million others like me.
