Let me set this up. Hypothetically Olajuwon & Drexler are the better duo and defeat Shaq & Penny. From this point the Olajuwon & Drexler duo should decline as the Shaq & Penny tandem improves. This is a rule of time and age but Kemp & Payton were better than Malone & Stockton as they made the finals first. As Payton & Kemp decline Malone & Stockton improve, Malone wins MVP and they go on to the finals twice. You could argue that Seattle had the better surrounding players but I won't. Crazy crazy stuff.

I'm lost, what was that meant to mean? IMHO Karl and John got better because back in Kemp and Payton's days the pick-n-roll was gaurded alot better.

Utah only passed Seattle because they canned George Karl. It was the coaches, not the players, in that one.
