And no one has mentiones that illegal immigration has been more of people overstaying their visas since the Great Recessions. It doesn’t surprise me those in the ignorant right are about 10 years behind.

Who can accurately explain the lives and career trajectories of illegal kids over their lifespan? The parents work labor intensive, min wage jobs as fruit and vegetable pickers, or landscapers / construction , what do the kids born in the us do? Are they one of too many kids the parents can't afford? The smart opinion , but never popular, is they shouldn't be allowed to have more than 1-2 kids without becoming citizens. I'm not interested in what the top 1, but the remaining 99%.

Republicans control Congress, Trump is the POTUS. if Trumps wants to end the child separation policy that was implemented by his AG, he can easily do so without any Dem involvement the child separation policy was implement by AG Session, without any Congressional action; likewise the child separation policy can be ended by AG Session without any Congressional action. All Trump has to do is to order AG Session to end the child separation practice.

Who is @Senator, that he just joined a Rockets BBS so he can argue about immigration in the D&D? There seems to be some dispute as to whether the GOP compromise bill would even do that. But, if that's what they want, they don't need any D votes to get it done. If you really want to embarrass the Democrats, draft a clean no-family-separation bill that specifies illegal immigrant families be detained as family units and dare Democrats to not vote for it. Trump's gambit here is he took something away from the 'immigrant doves' so he can trade it back again for his wall, etc. Child abuse should not be a bargaining chip. Outlaw that first and let's get back to sorting out the policy differences in negotiation.

Nope, immigration reform and changes is a Trump issue, and his party the Republicans. So he and his party get to live and die with it. You can complain that some of the Republicans are not obedient enough........ but again, it is a Trump and Republican problem. They have control. So, when reports come out of inhumane treatment of people by the government; Trump and the Republicans can deal with the political fall out, be it good or bad for them. This really has nothing to do with democrats....... it is all Republicans.
