I meant in respect to their old CBA, not in comparison to the men.

Women’s soccer was basically started by the USA, we played it and countries like England laughed about it, then we started the Women’s WC with FIFA and we had a major advantage with Title 9 and so many women playing, but it only took the world 20-25 years to catch-up because the big clubs embraced it and they have far better coaching than we do, so our advantage is now gone.

This team just didn’t have it from the Mids to the forwards, no identity, lacked skill and cohesion, and the newest generation of players has a far tougher road.

will be interesting to see the fallout.

The coach subbed Morgan out for that old blue hair lady... brilliant.

Don't take the bait. There are people in this thread who never post in any of our regular soccer threads and are only trying to be political.

We had the very same discussion about the German team this week, funny.
They spent most of the preparation talking about the evil wage gap, an important player even released her autobiography mid-tournament.

And after all that we then we got eliminated at group stage and showed some of the worst performances of the tournament, with zero technical skills or tactics.

There really is no point in engaging these morons (including one who does regularly post in soccer threads) who think an individual's politics should dictate whether you can be a fan of your national team. Actually, it's pretty f***Ing pathetic and unpatriotic that these dips***s can't put those things aside and root for their country's national team. Even saw a comment on FB on the Men In Blazers post about the game from a republican candidate in Massachusetts literally say that all republicans were happy and rooting for the US Women's NATIONAL team to lose. Just sad.

I'm not going to argue whether the players, individually, are supremely skilled or not...because they are. Tactically, this was bad. Vlatko had no answers and didn't see the warning signs that were there against Vietnam. If he hasn't been fired yet, it's coming soon. Not sure where they go from here but there certainly is enough of a stellar player pool to get back to being the best. The rest of the world has made enormous strides which is an amazing thing for the game overall. We can no longer take for granted that we're going to be the best. Coaching has to get better. This should cause a reset...though hopefully not one that took as long as the men's team did after the 2018 disaster...but not a full one because there's a lot of good young talent. They'll be back and will be a favorite again in 4 years.

interesting to see how people who usually claim they are Pro-US reveling in the defeat of team USA.

It's not really that interesting. It's kind of boring now, to be honest.

It’s gonna be ok baby girl. It’s just a game, run it back in four years. Don’t worry about the far right. Let ‘em chirp, least you didn’t storm the capital, probably the worst thing you can do as a human being. Let alone an American. You hungry baby? How about trill burgers? Let’s go see the new Barbie movie.

I can only imagine how they would react to somebody like Sócrates on a national team if this is how they revel in the USWNT losing.
