With all due respect, you're an idiot. (or being a troll) You either know nothing about the Dynamo and the fans in Houston or you're just trying to troll. Either way it's a garbage comment as Kam stated. This isn't Dallas or New England.
Worded terribly but I kinda see where he's coming from. Dynamo fans are great, but let's get real here, we're no Seattle. I think the northwest (Portland/Seattle) have the best atmosphere in the league.
Grant Wahl's piece today in Sports Illustrated says that Dempsey was only interested in playing for Seattle, Los Angeles or Toronto. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/soccer/news/20130805/clint-dempsey-seattle-sounders-mls/ I'd trust Wahl over a source claiming to spoken to Dempsey's brother off-hand and off-the-record.
LOL. Season ticket holder before I moved. You've obviously already made up your mind but here, let me learn you something: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/g9WxHJLqZc0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Take it for what it's worth.
Yes the PAC NW has the best atmosphere in the league but that doesn't mean Dynamo fans wouldn't be able to show Clint some love at his presentation if signed by the Dynamo. Of course the Sounders get 30-40k at each match and they and Portland are special but that doesn't mean Houston, KC or San Jose for example are chopped liver. Like I said, his statement would better apply to Dallas or New England, we may not bring 30-40k to each match but Dynamo supporters are as passionate if not more than any fans outside of Portland/Seattle imo.
Demps sold out for money. Be clear, given he same amount of money he would have stayed in Europe. He only went to MLS for the paycheck.
He should've stayed in Europe IMO Klinsmann is not happy about this at all but you can't blame Clint for taking the money though
Well, he was making 7.4 mil a year in Tottenham, now it's 6.9 mil a year. Of course, he gets a piece of the transfer fee, which makes those numbers basically identical. And he gets an extra guaranteed year. So he didn't exactly take a paycut. But i wouldn't call it selling out either. He just wanted to play rather than warm the bench.
The the only way MLS has a chance at World Class players. They don't come here to compete with the best that's for sure. Good on Clint.
This sounds off-topic but what if Chicharito or Gio Dos Santos leaves Europe and comes back to play in the Mexican League?
I don't know if any MLS team could be an EPL team, much less compete as a Football League Championship team. This was the roster of the 2013 MLS All Stars. GK Raul Fernandez GK Nick Rimando DF Tony Beltran DF Omar Gonzalez DF Matt Besler DF DeAndre Yedlin DF Corey Ashe DF Aurelien Collin MF Landon Donovan MF Graham Zusi MF Patrice Bernier MF Brad Davis MF Will Johnson MF Kyle Beckerman MF Tim Cahill FW Mike Magee FW Mike Wondolowski FW Marco Di Vaio FW Thierry Henry FW Camilo Sanvezzo FW Robbie Keane Pick your best XI. Don't even know if they get top half of the table.
