Just taking the current temp...not making a judgement one way or another here. Legitimately curious...

We don't need to make a judgement. Wait until time to extend him after next year.

Still Restricted Free agency but with a better feeling now that he could be traded or extended with a near max extension......

Would need data from another Full Season.

50/50 chance. Rockets still don't have a true star out on the floor even thou you are paying Fred like one. Is Segun going to be the main Focal point on this team?. I think you trade Green for a superstar Guard / forward that can co exist with Segun. But we have not seen the best of this young group yet. Thompson and Cam looked great as rookies. Should make playins or playoffs next year.

Great effort this I hope they square up at .500. Great young team . Jalen is still up in air thou as far as how idoka is going to get him coexisting with Segun. Maybe you run Adams with Jalen some while Segun is resting. Coach has his work cut out for him next year ...

my opinion of Jalen Green is that he is a basketball troll

Jalen gets all the credit for getting us in a temporary position to legitimately make the play-in, but I’m also giving him all the blame for why we didn’t make it

so u had the ability to play at such a high level all this time and decided to troll for over half the season playing like complete garbage…

Jalen Green is never consistent…he’ll have a 5 game stretch playing really well, then follow that up with 7 or 8 games where he’s abysmal

he also continued his annual trend of playing much better post-ASB, but that’s just not gonna cut it when u play like ass for prolonged stretches 1st half of the season

    Jalen pre-ASB: 18, 5, and 3 on 41/31/80 splits and 53% TS

    Jalen post-ASB: 25, 6, and 4 on 46/38/80 splits and 58% TS

1st guy is Jordan Poole…the 2nd guy is a blossoming star similar to a Tyrese Maxey

I’m expecting him to build on this end of the season play and BALL OUT at the start of next season…no excuses, no caveats, no more patience

my expectation for him coming into this season was 24, 4, and 4 on 44/36/80 splits, and he didn’t come close…I’m gonna need at least that or something similar next season

Idk what type of contract Stone would offer him this offseason, but he has the opportunity to bet on himself…if he hoops his heart out next season, he’ll be signing a max deal or something close to it for sure

He needs to add a floater to his game, something to help when he can’t get to rim and the 3 isn’t dropping … another offseason with Ben Sullivan hopefully helps with consistency on his jump shot … he needs to talk to refs and figure out why he isn’t getting calls, it’s nuts ..

I think he needs to spend whole summer in gym so he has his feet more under him to start season vs (after ASB)

needs to watch tape and work on learning ways to attack double teams other than trying to split

His trade value went back up - would still trade him for Donovan Mitchell

He's gotten better at finishing, marginally. But more than that, he's improved significantly in at least getting off shots after taking contact. He doesn't quite have the touch yet to finish on those -- which are mostly off-balance floaters. Still think he has no shot at stardom without adding lbs. Not unless he becomes a far greater shooter (especially open 3s).

His progress in getting contact and finishing at the rim, seeing passing angles, decision making not to force shots, defense are all very good. I am expecting more improvement. I think it is real progress and he will be consistent in these areas mostly at the start of the season.

The main thing that he lacks is a 3pt shot. If he can fix it and shoot it consistently well, he will get max extension for sure. Otherwise if there is no improvement there I would be hesitant to give a max extension but wouldn't be the worst decision this fo made if they give him a max extension.

HIs style is too helter skelter for my taste and young Russell Westbrook was stronger in finishing but he is a decent shooter when his shot is on.

The defense, processing, playmaking, rebounding have all improved significantly. The turnovers are still way too high; twice the league average for shooting guards. I don’t buy the shooting. He shot 40% from 3 in March, but it was our weakest stretch of opponents all year. The only other stretch he shot over 32% was back in Nov. He’s back shooting 26% so far in April. I was really hoping to see a full season of shooting improvement, but the reality is he’s still gonna finish with a career worst from 3. Lastly I’ll give him some points for mental toughness, fighting through a tough year and finishing strong.

The good news is he’s rehabbed his value substantially, and the potential for stardom still flashes. At this point I think you listen to offers in the offseason, but unless a star becomes available you roll with him going into next season and see how he performs before the trade deadline.

Regardless of what we do with Jalen we need another guard who can handle Fred’s duties. We honestly lucked out that we didn’t lose Fred for more of the season.

    Same as it always was?

He comes back next season and we see how he does.

This has always been the course.

No one went and took his job - and he had a really big second half.

So we wait - let everyone comeback and see what shakes loose.

Based on how he performs next season he'll get paid on the market value, it's all on him.

This is one of the most important off seasons and years in his life so I would get a team, trainers, nutritionists, recovery specialists, skill coaches, film study, etc., and work his tail off to become an all-star and lead his team/succeed in the playoffs.

I believe Sengun was training all summer with his team and it paid off, I would do the same.

The floor is about the same but the ceiling got much higher. But the evaluation is the same, he has to be consistent. His best 10 games are mvp level now instead of all star level. Still, though, he has like 40 games at Jordan Poole level. Give him all of next year to see if he can have more Michael Jordan games and less Jordan Poole games.

Mitchell is too short and can't play defense. Great offensively, but not a Udoka type player.
