Another weak dunk contest .... looks like they want Griffin to win easily, he probably would have anyway.
Maybe I dont understand the behind the scenes politics of the NBA but it seems to me that if I where Lebron or Wade I would wanna compete in this contest having grew up in a era when the dunk contest was the best part of all-star week end. Now the entire all-star deal is just a joke, especially the game itself
still a sick dunk to this day  <object width="640" height="505"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/T85WnlYIwzs?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/T85WnlYIwzs?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="505"></embed></object>
Mcgee is nearly a seven footer wtf? Shorter dunkers are always more fun to witness...spudd webb, nate robinsion, steve francis
And JR again has arguably the best in-game slam of the year...over Hill. Although, Griffin was a clip away from doing it much more impressively vs Tiago...but he got deflected by contact just enough to short it. Both against the Spurs...haha Smith going coast-to-coast straight up the middle against Pops vaunted defense <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/RlU3oh5Aq-U?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/RlU3oh5Aq-U?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object> Griffin <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/tOvLL4ghD44?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/tOvLL4ghD44?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>
ever consider the fact that JR Smith or any other bigger name players don't want to do the contest? Maybe they would rather spend the weekend chilling rather than doing something that they already did years ago? It seems the dunk contest really isn't "cool" anymore to participate in. I think it's a solid group, I think McGee is going to surprise a lot of people and be the biggest contender to Griffin. The only thing that worries me is that Griffin will win based on hype alone, he could make a lay-up and the judges will still give him 9s while Ibaka does a 1080 windmill and get 8s.
What's so incredible about JR's slam against the Spurs (which I posted above) is he went coast-to-coast on an inbounds pass with only 6 seconds left on the 1st Q clock. He slammed it with 0.6 seconds left. how is that possible? It's like, "Oh, he's surely going to stop for a 3, right?"
Who decides this ****? How do you have a dunk contest with 3 bigs and a PG? McGee's dunks will not excite - he can dunk it, but he's too tall and doesn't really jump very high so he's limited in the dunks he can do and it just looks awkward when he dunks because he is so frail. There is no power in his dunks. ...Jennings - not sure where they came up with that. He should be competing in the PG skills contest NOT the dunk contest. I can't remember a single memorable dunk from him. Ibaka is a good dunker but he's mostly a game dunker. His dunks are cool because they are normally putbacks or alley oops over other people. They do this every year and those types of dunkers rarely excite. I expect him to finish 2nd to Blake. Blake Griffin - the only choice that makes sense. It's almost as if they fixed the contest for him - he has no competition at all. ...here is a word of advice for the morons who pick these people. Go to youtube. If you type their name and "dunk" and don't get more than two pages of different dunks, then don't invite them to the contest. It's a simple as that. I also like the idea of taking truly the best dunkers in the league - even bench warmers. You know Terrence Williams can throw down with the best of them. Why are we forced to stick to starters on teams when normally those guys aren't the risk taking high flyers we want to see. It's amazing how the NBA continues to make the dunk contest as boring as possible...
Can't wait to see Mcgee!! <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/VOB04HvFewA?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/VOB04HvFewA?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object> <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/2D_rjoyx9D8?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/2D_rjoyx9D8?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object> <spoiler> <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/K_ksqrFQPgU?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/K_ksqrFQPgU?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object> REPEAT! </spoiler>
