So Yao Ming's daughter isn't Chinese then, using that logic.

Your point is well-taken, but I think what that poster was getting it is that Bhullar likely wouldn't have the impact abroad that Yao had because Bhullar wasn't raised and didn't play basketball in Asia before coming to North America.

I think one's country of birth and nationality should have more to do with how they develop (in sports or otherwise) than what race they are. If Yao Ming's daughter declines Chinese citizenship when she's 18 then yes, I'd consider her more American than Chinese.

You don't call a white American player British or Jewish or whatever, so why should you tag Bhullar or Jeremy Lin by the country their ancestors were from?

This guy should just concentrate to be a doctor or an IT guy. Basketball is not in his blood.

Both of them are very young, so there is time to develop, lol at some of the comments in here about them being lazy etc.

hes going to new mexico state. i guess he wasnt going to qualify to get a scholarship or something, so he decided to go somewhere closer and in state which is cheaper for him to pay his own way. i'm a dayton fan so glad we dont have to worry about messing with him in the paint.

No jersey numbers or names so I had a hard time keeping up with where he was. :-/

As a Canadian, I want this guy to be good. But he looks like garbage. He seems too slow for competitive ball - and his lack of athleticism hurts him in rebounding, pick and rolls, as well as getting his shot off cleanly. He seems like he can barely dunk (at 7'4" with an 8'2" wingspan). His only advantage is his size - and that will be easily countered when he reaches college or the NBA unless he gets in much better shape (I highly doubt he'll make it to the NBA).

He's going to New Mexico State instead of Xavier because he didn't qualify academically for the scholarship he was offered... and New Mexico State is much less money.
