Shouldn't fans be happy that we even have an NFL team?

Sports is what's trivial, not cheering for your own town.

You are taking this far too seriously. It makes no one "weak".

Houston is chock full of transplants from all over the country. Which is worse, in your estimation, for their character: to abandon the team they grew up with or to live in Houston and not cheer for Houston?

Neither is. It's a game. For some perspective on what's actually important, go caroling at an old folks' home or go take presents to Texas Children's Hospital. Work a soup kitchen this Christmas. Once you run into someone who hopes his kid is here for Christmas 2008 or someone who just wants a blanket for when the temperature dips below 40, perhaps it will matter less to you whether anyone gives a damn about the Houston Texans.

True; I could certainly be taking your statements out of context. I'm sorry if my tone was offensive to you.

The whole "true fan" nonsense is blown way out of proportion, and Houston does *not* look bad as a sports town nationally.

Any misrepresentation of your character is of your own doing. You are who you are online solely by the posts you make. If you want to clear up any misconceptions, by all means, enlighten us.

Then none will be afforded to you, which, whether you choose to believe it or not, will carry over to other threads. Go right ahead and continue to dig your own grave. But don't claim you were never warned.

Fine. I take it back. I was letting him know for his sake, not mine.

See. That's where you are wrong. True Houston fandom is infallible and completely virtuous. It doesn't demand respect, no more than the sun or the moon demands respect. It transcends respect. It simply is. This knowledge gives a Houston fan fearlessness. We do not run from our current crappy teams, we have no need to fear plagues from Tennessee inducing the worship false idols. Save your warnings. I have seen the blue faced demons and I am not afraid.

You were really irritating me elevating this stuff above it's appropriate place of significance (which is "not too significant"), but this post is just funny. Color me entertained, rather than irritated.
