Looks like Rudy T would not even return on Friday. I think everybody is worrying about his health and wish him recover soon.

But my question is even we are lucky enough that Rudy T may avoid surgery, but as I know, this kind of disease need totally rest, avoid frequent traveling and pressure. So is there any possibility that Rudy T decide to rest for a season or two?

Look at the last two games' Rox coaching, I think most of people will realize how ineligible those assistances sub Rudy for the job even for a while. Movie editor and DVD maker just can't get it done.

We are in the same situation as Mavs before. Don Nelson had cancer too, but we just cannot be compared to Mavs. When Nelson was out, Don Nelson Jr. followed his game plan strictly and look at their assistance coaches, they have dozens of them and including experienced coach like Del Harris.

What we gonna do? Any thoughts?

this is why you have a staff of competent, accomplished assistant coaches...not freakin' video coordinators.

Agreed! This has to be addressed at some point. I just don't think the assistant coaches expertise matches well with Rudys. Where are the "teachers", where are the Xs and Os strategists? Rudy's expertise is in player management, he needs to be surrounded by coaches that have expertise in coaching fundamentals to teach the younger players and Xs and Os strategists. These types of coaches would compliment Rudy's strengths.

these types of coaches would also be a threat to rudy's job...

Yes, we have no depth at the coaching position. We need to trade for a solid guy who can teach flopping and how to run the PnR and do some substitution duties to backup Rudy. Rice for Stockton, anyone? Or is there any FA we can sign this summer?

Hmm... come to think of it, the equipment manager needs a good backup too. What about the ball boy? If something happens to him...

We need more experienced assistant coaches period!

Which head coach has been fired recently? John Lucas? Alvin Gentry? Why don't we get them?

Exactly! Which is why those types of coaches aren't hired! But then again, if the Coach does his job there isn't any need to worry in the first place is there?

    I second that...

Althought it'll never happen, he would scare and intimidate the team into being disciplined and playing better D...

Can you imagine the tirads he would have on EG, Posey and CAT...

    :D

a good assistant will not be a threat to rudy. if anything he would secure rudy's job. as long as he helps rudy it makes rudy look better. we see now that rudy has had little or no help and is still a damn good coach.

just think about what we can do next year if he hires someone like alvin gentry, john lucas, even jeff van gundy...
