The rationale for statues of confederate soldiers standing on public land would justify a statue of Timothy McVeigh at the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City. That is what li'l bobby and the other wingnuts are trying to defend with moronic excuses like "They were Americans after all and were important parts of American history....even if that history is not pleasant."

Exactly. I can't believe I'm echoing the words of Corker, but he said it best, if it's about the history let's put the statues in a museum and move forward. The statues don't belong in a place where justice is supposed to be done, ideas to move the nation/state/city forward are supposed to be hashed out and put into place, and our society is supposed to advance in a lawful and civil way.

you knew it would come to this

They'd blow up Mt Rushmore if they could, but that would require marketable skills

That's just wrong. I love Washington. I love my revolutionaries, Washington, Bolivar, Che and the underrated one you don't hear about, partisan revoulutionary, Francis Marion who basically came up with the spread offense of guerrilla warfare, great talent.
But yeah here is what you do. You find surveillance. pin point towers and find the culprits. If I was the ceo of the antifuhs, I'd expel anyone who would topple a revolutionary. I bet Commodore doesn't follow up when it isn't Antifuh to blame. And the source used lol NGO.

Bucks Says we need to interview Antifa before coming to a judgement as well or live in Washington for reasons as absurd as any

I’m hanging out in Austin and it’s sad to see vandalism to businesses that had nothing to do racism or police brutality

I would make the offense to a mandatory one year prison sentence where they can get an earlier sentence if they go and clean up graffiti for the city

This is a bad comparison given it was erected at the point of a gun.

There's also something sad and offensive about a historical work of craftsmanship being destroyed by a mob who couldn't change a tire.

Voting to move offensive statues to museums is the most sensible compromise.

I think it's more sad that people like yourself defend racist statues.

In another thread, I was told that George Washington would be spared.
