Outside of sports, I don't feel that strongly about a lot of things, but Shiner's summer brew, Ruby Redbird and its lack of availability after Labor Day is something I find to be unjust. Please take a brief moment to sign the petition to bring back Shiner Ruby Redbird!
I find something unnatural about drinking Oktoberfest beer in 105 degree heat. I want my Redbird back!
Never understood this boards fascination w that beer. If you want a great, refreshing summer beer w an interesting flavor profile try left hand's good juju.
Isn't it just a seasonal, like it'll be back next summer? Either way, it sucks. Shiner actually just isn't good, their Bock isn't a real bock either. But if I'm somewhere that only carries Bud/Coors/Miller light or Shiner, I'll definitely drink Shiner.
I don't drink a ton of shiner cuz I'm not in Texas but beer should almost never be better in a bottle, that's usually the worst vehicle to hold beer
I had a keg of Shiner and could never get it right. It tasted closer to Miller Lite than anything. So yes, it sucked.
Gotta love beer snobs. Really a top 10 annoyance on the internets these days. We get it, anything that is not crafted at a shop where only 10 people work slave labor SUCKS! DOWN WITH SHINER!!!
I agree. Taste is very subjective, so it's not like one person is right and another is wrong. If you like it, then you like it. Nobody can tell you that you "shouldn't like it". SamFisher is the source of this craft beer snobbery on this board. I am still considering my response for this.
I'm a big fan of the Shiner Premium...but also like the Wild Hare Pale Ale, and the Black Lager. Not too crazy about the Ruby Redbird.
Yeah, they're up there with inner-loop, anti-suburb snobs. Put me in the camp that didn't enjoy this, but that's because I hate grapefruit. This and that smokehouse brew they had a few years ago are the only two Shiners I didn't really enjoy. I had the Oktoberfest in cans this weekend and will be getting more. I wish they sold the Prickly Pear one on its own.
