he and his agent probably got wind that a max contract from the Pelicans is not in the cards. i think he's going to take a 1-year deal somewhere for ~$15-$20 million (Phoenix?) to get his value back up.
The type of injury that Cousins had is quite serious. Having said that, when the Rockets lose to the Warriors, I am sure Morey will be sniffing around and add him to his master plan of fall back options. Would Cousins (even if healthy) make the Rockets better? I don't know, but he would increase the talent level if options like LeBron, George etc. don't work.
Morey investigates everything. If he doesn't look healthy Morey wont touch him. We backed out of an Amare deal.
He recently posted something about Wilkins having the same injury them coming back the next year to average 30
Also, isn't this like... counter-productive to say you're going to want 3 big men like this? Like if you're one of them, wouldn't you be turned off that they listed you w/ other big men?
To be fair, they probably got in each other's way a little bit. A shame about Cousins---in more way than one. He has the talent if not the maturity. And that's one tough injury to overcome. Beggars can't be choosers?
Kevin O'connor was the source of the Mavs could be interested in DJ. I mean, is he speculating or does he have a source? Feels like he is spitballing. I haven't seen anything that suggests that DJ's bridge isn't burned with Cuban and the Mavs. I DO believe DMC could be an option for the Mavs. And Randle make sense for them too.
It's surprising they'd be dumb enough to commit that much money to Cousins after the ROI on Wesley Matthews. Giving a guy max money after a devastating injury is a huge risk.
Smoke and mirrors to offer Clint the supermax. Murry playing checkers on a chessboard. What a maroon.
