Capela came in a S&T with Durant, Tate didn't hurt on a minimum .... the killer was going after DFS when you had half a dozen forwards already. That's the money that should have gone to a point guard, I said that back then and I stand by it now .... that was the critical mistake. They had no contingency plan for FVV getting hurt and he's missed ~20 games a season the last 5 and they had no contingency for Amen or Reed not playing up to expectations. But they have 8 Forwards on the team ... and are over the tax line, starting the repeater tax in a year they punted.
Reed isn’t the ideal solution but I’ve been so annoyingly beating a dead horse about him because this team lacks shooting more than any team I’ve ever seen and he’s really their only true shooter he picks up his dribble like a toddler at times, makes brain dead passes and plays scared but it sounds like we’ve already called it a “developmental year” as you said, when he brings it up at least there is the threat of a pull up, pass, or drive. Senguin dribbling or top of the key iso is how the spurs shut down our offense completely. It’s just unacceptable at this point. I don’t want to see point KD or point senguin anymore. Bring in JD if they don’t trust Reed FFS
