He is struggling with having to learn defense and offense and reducing turnovers all at the same time in Udoka’s system. Too much for the kid and his game breaks down in one of those three key areas on a nightly basis. His confidence is shot and the best way to work on all those things is to send him to the G-League and let him go off like Cam and get 40-50 points to rebuild his confidence. He can also work on increasing his horrifically low bb iq. Send Jock down with him and you get a two for one deal!
I think there is literally 0 reason to even consider sending Jalen to the G-league at this point in time. I also feel like this is a sentiment that could’ve been expressed in one of the many preexisting Jalen Green threads and doesn’t need to be its own thread
Let's hope he improves and can become consistent under Ime's leadership. He needs to get stronger and if he's not scoring then he should try to be an all-star on defense and rebounding that game. You can still impact the game in other ways. He just seems really immature and lackadaisical though.
I feel the G League has to re-vamp itself and get more Euro League talents over here to make it a strong 2nd League......
Spot on….Jabrari struggled early on but has contributed in other ways like defense and rebounding. Jalen, on the other hand, struggles offensively and gets appropriately benched by Udoka in 4th quarters of some games because he brings literally no other skills to the floor other than offense. His low bb iq and current slump can be directly tied to lack of confidence and too much thinking on the court versus the no game script, just react, system that Green excelled in with Silas. A short stint in the G-League would do wonders for this kid.
Anybody on this board who also follows baseball knows that many pitchers get sent to the minors briefly to work on their mechanics when in major slumps and it often does the trick. With Udoka, I don’t think anyone should get to the point of being too comfortable that they couldn’t be sent to the the “minors” other than the veterans FVV, Brooks, and Jeff Green. This is a much better solution than trading Jalen at this point as his talent is undeniable.
