So he shot the equivalent of a 32% 3 point shooter off the dribble.... stellar efficiency. And this was in the g league where no defense at all is played.... the same league where a teenage Hartenstein could put up 24 and 15. Clearly a reason to get excited.
I hart was 20 when he did that. Scoot was playing as a 17 year old. Go ahead and make your conclusions otherwise though.
Ah, fair enough, a league dominated by a 20 year old Hartenstein, clearly that makes a big difference. My point was that no defense is played in the league, because no defense is played in that league. Also, I'll be watching him this year hoping he's developed a 3 point shot.... if he shoots 17% again, it'll cause him to fall pretty far in the draft. There's just no place in the league for a guard that bad at shooting.
32% on pull up 3's (2 attempts a gm) 45% on pull ups 15-19ft out 41% on pull ups 20-24ft out Gets to the rim at will. Gonna be good...
.... you typed that up as if they were good numbers. Less than 50% from midrange means you shouldn't be shooting them, less than 33% from 3 (he was a pathetic 17%) means you shouldn't be shooting them. Getting to the rim against glorified pick up game level competition is great, but that's not gonna work in the NBA.... especially if he can't shoot. Unless he gets a LOT better, there's no reason for anyone to guard him on the perimeter at all... just sit back and laugh at him if he shoots like with Westbrook.
I'm sorry, have you convinced yourself that I've ever advocated for KPJ to shoot midrange garbage? You have to know that's not a thing that ever happened despite the odd strawman you've created.
For one I was just jacking around. Saw the post and recalled our debate on the midrange subject. Fully aware your not an advocate. No strawman creation here. But honestly when Edwards, Green, KPJ and Ja are shooting 31%, 36%, 33% and 33.3% respectively and he's knocking them down at 48% that's something. I know your saying that midrange shooting is garbage. A low % shot. "The worst shot you can take" if I remember correctly. For him, it's not a bad shot.
Anything under 50% is a bad shot, and it'll get a LOT harder in a real league that plays defense. There's maybe a handful of players in the entire league that should even attempt those shots... and it doesn't make up for 3 point shooting that random fans out of the crowd might be able to replicate.
