    :rolleyes::rolleyes:,
Waymo is fully autonomous driving, Tesla is not

you've been duped by that intellectualy dishonest post by Teslanomics

    Tesla vehicles currently operate with advanced driver assistance features but are not fully autonomous;
they function at Level 2 automation, requiring driver supervision at all times.

    Who's extorting?

As for the "trash talking", it's well deserved.

I've been to NY, I've been to SF ..... and Chicago.

The first thing I said to myself when I got to NYC was "this place is filthy" and that was walking around Manhattan. The population density is literally 10X that of Houston .... people living on top of people, reminds me of slums in Mumbai.

San Fran .... is Seattle south, drug addicts and homeless in front of businesses and homes - needles and human excrement along the sidewalks and along the highways. Tragic ....

Chicago is kinda like Houston, pockets of problems, just more of them .... you can't smell the stench of the south side from The Gold Coast .... or River Oaks.

Mayor Lurie Unveils New Concepts To reinvigorate the Heart of Fisherman’s Wharf

The city is already seeing real momentum, with visitor volume and spending in San Francisco growing since last year, and hotel rooms and convention center bookings nearly 65% higher than in 2024. The Ferry Building is also continuing to attract new restaurants and activations, welcoming a record number of visitors in the second quarter of 2025.

The City's iconic Fisherman's Wharf is getting a $10M makeover

The new 5,000-square-foot plaza at Fisherman’s Wharf will feature sweeping, wave-shaped seating, picnic tables, and benches that look out over the colorful fleet of Monterey fishing boats in the inner lagoon. String lights will hang overhead, and new signage will celebrate the Wharf’s rich history and the city’s fishing heritage, creating a spot that is as vibrant as it is welcoming.

The project, part of a $10 million initiative called Fisherman’s Wharf Forward, aims to revitalize Taylor Street, Jefferson Street, and the inner lagoon, reconnect visitors to the working fishing waterfront, and give locals and tourists a fresh reason to enjoy the area. The upgrades also come as the city prepares to host World Cup games in the summer of 2026, giving visitors an even bigger reason to explore the Wharf.

the iconic Alioto's Restaurant, closed since 2020, was demolished in late 2025,
with construction on the plaza scheduled to begin in early 2026.

The City hopes to have the space open and welcoming to the public by summer 2026. The public plaza that will be built
on the site that housed Alioto’s Restaurant will feature:
    • Picnic tables, bay-facing seating, and wave-like sculptures
    • Pop-up space for food, drinks, or retail
    • String lights, landscaping, and wind screens
    • Signage highlighting the Wharf’s fishing history
    • A new inner lagoon overlook along Al Scoma Way with lighting to showcase the historic Monterey fishing fleet
    • Ice machines and harbor upgrades for local fishers
    • New entertainment zones nearby, including one at Pier 39
    • Long-term resilience projects including seawall strengthening, flood-proofing, and sea level rise protections
    • Reactivation of nearby shuttered restaurants including Fisherman’s Grotto #9, Everett & Jones BBQ, Chasca Rio, and Castagnola’s

Mayor Daniel Lurie said in a statement that the plaza will “reinvigorate the heart of Fisherman’s Wharf, accelerate the projected growth
    in San Francisco’s tourism.”

“We are transforming the wharf into a modern, vibrant public space that will help us continue to attract residents to our waterfront and visitors to our city,” he said. “I cannot wait to see Fisherman’s Wharf continue to flourish as this project moves forward.”

While the improvements are being fast-tracked, plans are underway for much longer-term and ambitious efforts. According to the Port of San Francisco, this will add resilience infrastructure designed to adapt Taylor Street and the inner lagoon for the next 75 years, including
    • strengthening or replacing the seawall and wharves,
    • flood-proofing buildings,
    • improving facilities for the fishing fleet and fishing industry,
    • developing and leasing retail spaces and upgrading the public space.

In Dec 2025, private equity giant Blackstone purchased the Four Season Hotel San Francisco, the 277-room luxury tower
    at 757 Market Street, with a price tag of ~ $130 M.

Earlier in 2025, two of the city’s largest hotels, the Hilton San Francisco Union Square and Parc 55, sold together
for about $408 million, were to NY-based luxury hotel operators Newbond Holdings.

The SF Bay Area's most anticipated restaurant openings of 2026
A wave of arrivals is slated for early 2026, from a glamorous French restaurant by the Michelin-starred Lazy Bear team to
    several ambitious Mexican restaurants.

More local favorites are expanding, too: Hit Arab bakery Reem's will return to Oakland, while San Francisco's Russian
Cinderella Bakery will finally open a long-awaited second outpost in the Mission District. Petit Americain, a new restaurant from
a co-founder of pizzeria favorite Square Pie Guys, will bring French fare to San Francisco's Haight-Ashbury neighborhood.

This also looks to be the year that two of San Francisco's most feverishly awaited openings could actually materialize: the revival of
the iconic Cliff House and an outpost of Filipino fast food chain Jollibee in a beleaguered part of downtown. Major San Francisco sites
will get new dining options, from a sprawling food hall at the Presidio to a major redevelopment of Fisherman's Wharf.

A major influx of Asian grocery stores will also continue in 2026; expect multiple locations of T&T Supermarket and Tokyo Central.

In the first half of 2025, venture capital funding for AI companies in the San Francisco Metro area surpassed $29 billion—more than double the amount during the same period in 2022, data from PitchBook shows. As of Aug. 5, VC deals for AI startups in the area, which includes San Francisco, Oakland and Fremont, made up 46.6% of funding for U.S. AI companies this year.

AI has been a "bright spot" in the city's economy, helping San Francisco to recover after retailers, office workers and some companies such as X (formerly Twitter) left the downtown area during and after the pandemic as remote work picked up. "The economic impact is [AI companies] take more office space, they pay more taxes, they hire more people," said Ted Egan, chief economist of the city and county of San Francisco. Over the past five years, AI-related companies have leased more than 5 million square feet of San Francisco office space and the amount is projected to grow, according to CBRE, a real estate service and investment firm. The city's office vacancy rate of 35.8% in the first

Scattered across San Francisco’s eastern neighborhoods are reminders of the last tech boom. Buildings in the Design District are adorned with the logos of blue-chip companies like Airbnb, Pinterest, and Adobe. An enormous canvas poster featuring a white dog on a red backdrop looms over a roundabout, advertising Zynga, the game development company behind the once-viral “FarmVille.”
