When your so dysfunctional, not even overpaying can save you, ha. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Wes Matthews Latest: ESPN sources say Matthews' camp has notified Kings he's unlikely to take their offer, making Dallas even more likely</p>— Marc Stein (@ESPNSteinLine) <a href="https://twitter.com/ESPNSteinLine/status/616827733994147840">July 3, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Going to Dallas <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Wes Matthews has agreed in principle with the Mavericks on a four-year deal, per source. Turned down huge offer from Sacramento.</p>— David Aldridge (@daldridgetnt) <a href="https://twitter.com/daldridgetnt/status/616831147524419584">July 3, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Who would you rather go to, at this point? The Mavs or the Kings? As bad as the Kings are, they still have Karl and Cousins. I think I'd rather that then old Dirk, Carlisle, and a bare bones roster.
At this point Mavs are probably worse than the Kings. And Matthews is an idoit for turning down guaranteed money.
True unless cousins leaves. It could be that he likes Cuban, and Cuban will give I'm parsons treatment?
Why so much hate for Matthews? He's a legit 3D guy, the most coveted type of role player after stretch-4. Name 2 other guys not named Klay Thompson that are better 3D players at SG position. Players like Butler, Harden or Wade don't count because they are much more complete and deserving of max salary.
Dallas Mavs love overpaying role players huh? Not to mention role players coming off of an achilles injury. Move will backfire on them and the Mavs were irrelevant before signing him and will remain irrelevant after signing him.
Yea I like Matthews ( though still frustrated from how he handled Harden in the playoffs) but To play your game how about Danny Green?
Gotta give Matthews a lot of credit. He earned this contract, but I just don't see him ever being a #2 option on a championship team.
