    weird

    from Newsmax of all places:

A poll released by Time magazine on Oct. 24 shows early voting has helped Obama to a 5 percentage point advantage over Romney in Ohio, a swing state with 18 electoral votes. No Republican presidential nominee has ever been elected without carrying Ohio. Obama led 49 percent to 44 percent among Ohioans surveyed Oct. 22-23 who said they will vote on Nov. 6 or who have cast ballots already..

Kinda along the lines with what I just posted. Dem turnout was higher thanks to Bush, GOP enthusiasm is probably higher now, thus, higher voter turnout this time around.

different from a Reuters Poll also.. EHH WHO REALLY GIVES A CRAP ABOUT POLLS .. just go out and vote for who you want and wait for the results..

"Obama also holds an advantage among the 22 percent who said they have already cast their ballots. Some 55 percent of this group said they had voted for Obama, while 40 percent said they had voted for Romney"

the actual early voters have given Romney a vote lead nationally. they're not publishing individual states, only showing short snippets, like from Ohio.

In my opinion, all that stuff is meaningless. Doesn't matter whether Romney or Obama is leading in the early voting. It's immaterial. What matters is who turns out to vote. In my opinion, Republicans are coming out en masse this election. I don't know if they will outvote Dems but I am convinced they won't trail Dems by 5 points or more. And I think there is a good chance Rep voters will equal or surpass Dem voters in this election.

Which is why we want Gordon Gecko to run the United States? Hand the reins over to Wall Street? No, thanks. You can't leverage-buyout the country.

So, now Mitt is Gecko. If Mitt is Gecko, then Obama is Karl Marx. Get real man.

The idea behind polls are to estimate what the election will be like on election day. To lean one way or another is stupid, polls should just be the best statistical estimate of the the real event.

The internal polls of each camp is much more likely to be accurate as they don't need to fool the public one way or another, too bad we cannot see those numbers.

I see that you've given up defending your absurd claims that undecideds always go for the challengers and moved on to "but I know it will happen this time!!" Progress, I guess.

If you can't see how absurd Silver's article and data manipulation is, and then you can't see that it still shows that the challenger normally gets the vast majority of the undecideds, even after Nate spins it, then I can't help you.

    We'll see in a week.

the fact that more people in more states that matter will vote (or have already voted) for him.

This is a considerable advantage in most political campaigns.

And you'll keep on popping up with the same stupid crap just like you do in the other fora. Hooray.

Huh? That makes no sense you were arguing in support of Gallup's model. Since Gallup undercounted Democrats in 00 and 04 and according to the article that Roxtxia cited is still doing so but keep on spinning.

Spinning what? I said a higher % of repubs would vote this time around compared to the last two elections. How do you spin an opinion?

Actually we don't know that for sure since the Gallup piece at the beginning of the thread is based on their polling other polls cited in this thread directly contradict that.

That makes no sense though with what you posted earlier. You said you support Gallup's methodology. Roxtxia posts an article showing that Gallup was wrong. In response to my pointing that out you now say that that actually agrees with what you are saying. Well then do you actually agree with Gallup's methodology or not?

EDIT: Whoops sorry JD88 It looks like I mixed you up with Jopatmc.
