Yeah, this is a great finish. Does the new Rockets/Astros network begin next season? Or is it the '06 season?

    I actually dropped a few tears. :)

You think any of these games will be on TV 51?

I wouldn't want anyone else. I can't believe guys like Biggio and Bagwell are even getting another chance in the playoffs this late in their career.

Biggio especially. He needs to suck it up and starting hitting better in the playoffs. I feel a Biggio playoff rant thread coming up pretty soon. I dont want to see another freaking disappearing act from our leadoff hitter, because it spreads to the rest of the hitters.

I'll be honest like the players, I pretty much gave up hope. Still watched and what not, but I just didn't see it happening around mid-August or so.

Well ****, at least I'll be rewarded watching it on Wednesday; I have a 4-page essay I haven't started due for English, a major test in my Sports Management class, and a major test in Spanish that I'm completely lost in.

If I was still in 'Bama, you can sure as hell bet I would head to ATL for the games.

What an amazing, amazing year. Good luck in the playoffs!

    Sincerely,

Best Astros fan in South Florida who reminds you to never give up

I said a few things back then out of frustration and also thought we wouldn't do this but I was happily proven wrong. I never gave up all hope as I still watched and participated in thread discussions. It's just phenomenal what they were able to do in the last month and a half. I think we were 37-10...almost 4 wins for every 1 loss. I now truly believe that anything can happen and, for that feeling, I owe the Astros a debt of gratitude. This will not be forgotten regardless but we owe the Braves. "Let's get it done" as has been the prevailing attitude.

I'm one of those guys that's always optimistic, saying stuff like, we could win even if we're down 10 in the bottom of the 9th with two outs against us. Kept saying all 2nd half, if we just win 10 in a row, we're right back in this thing. Thank you Astros for finally living out my hope for once.

    Here is the best part.

    We have:
    7 Cy Youngs
    2 MVPS
3 Sure fire HOF's (Biggio, Bags, Clemens)
4 Potential HOF's (Oswalt, Berkman, Pettite, and Beltran)
A Defensive Catcher, Shortstop, and Centerfielder
    The Most dominant closer

This team has the potential to go all the way. And we may have the deepest roster of any team.

Wow, what a season! I'm going to at least one of the games this weekend, hopefully both. We just need to get one of these games in Atlanta and I'll really like our chances. Lets go Stros!

I stopped watching after the All-Star Game and if you've noticed I don't post in this forum much but I had to come by and eat crow for the guys who truly believed and you know who you are.

    I can't guarantee I won't be watching the playoffs.

Hey, look back a few pages and see who wanted Brandon Backe to start the game... OK, so it took a stomache virus to get him on the hill. But now we will have a rested Clemens, a rested Oswalt, and a confident Backe in the rotation... woo hoo!

I would like to thank the Astros for supplying me with some great memories. I'll be telling my kids, "that's not nothing compared to the Astros in 04'!"

I don't know if I'd call Biggio and Bagwell locks yet.
