Yea...I've got to figure something else out. I've called in sick too many times already this year. I might just split a vacation day down into 2 hour chunks and use them for every day game the Astros play during the playoffs. Make it so...!

man, i still remember reading a post by RM95 back a few months ago before the winning started saying come october, the astros will be in the playoffs, count on it (or something to that effect) and just thinking "man, what a hopelessly optimistic homer" and lo and behold two months later i'm sitting here watching brad lidge strike out the side (what a friggin' monster) to clinch a playoff berth. absolutely amazing. lidge just blew through those guys in the ninth, he's just so damn good. and the number of things that just went right or fell into place was incredible. guys getting called out at the plate when they look safe by a mile, lance throwing a guy out by a centimeter with a perfect throw, the cubs blowing a 3-0 lead in the 9th, the giants blowing a 3-0 lead in the ninth (must be some 3-0 lead in the 9th karma from game 6 against the mets), bagwell's fair/foul/fair again dribbler, biggio catching stuff in the stands, the cubs choking (oh wait, that's just normal), etc., etc., etc. no matter what happens in the playoffs (and even after all this i can't say i'm optimistic) this has just been incredible. and maybe the early start for the UT/ou game is a blessing now because maybe i'll be able to catch the stros if they play late enough that day.
