We lost now three in a row due to Lively, Jokic, and Davis. We will likely lose the next two due to Holmgren and Jokic. These are all great players, but we have a great defense that should negate their dominance to at least just league average rebounding numbers. Major problem is that while we bust our arses to get rebounds, the law of nature takes over and these huge people rather easily grab them over us and allow for misses without consequences. That becomes the difference between winning and losing close games (along with Jalen’s continued low iq turnovers). We need a “big” to go along with the shorter Sengun to compete against the better teams in this league.

If we get a big can we put Sengun and that person in the same starting lineup? I suggested the same a while ago but people pointed out there would be spacing issues with a double big lineup because Sengun isn't a good 3-point shooter. Who goes to the bench to make room for the big? Jabari, Brooks, Sengun?

We’re smaller at every position in starting lineups most nights

You can't put a conventional big with Sengun, it won't work. It needs to be with a Wemby or a Holmgren. Jabari is good and tall but not good enough to cover up Sengun's weaknesses.

Jalen is a different story. Im truly puzzled by Jalen. I know he's better than what he's showing but he is a turnover machine and his shot is too inconsistent

Problem is our best player (by far) is an undersized center. I think he could be a four with a few adjustments in his game. I’d love to see him with a competent big.

I don't disagree defensively, but even small people can find ways to be more consistent offensively.

We're basically dead even in the rebounding battle for the year, it's hardly killing us. The Rockets lost because they scored 97 points, rebounds didn't have s**t to do with it.

We need better offensive production from the perimeter because as is if Sengun plays poorly our offense is usually f**ked. He played poorly, and Green was MIA as he is often is.

Especially when the self proclaimed 6’6 shooting guard is really 6’4.

    we need big wings.

cant wait until the lineup consists of

    amen (6’7)
    Cam (6’6)
    Tari (6’8)
    Bari (6’11)
    And Sengun?(6’11)

Two names: Jaren Jackson Jr and Lauri Markkanen.

The PERFECT compliments to Sengun at the 4 spot. Legit power forwards too, unlike toothpick Jabari. Both can stretch the floor, protect the rim, switch defensively, and score. It’s time to consolidate these assets.

But it won’t get done because this organization would rather continue wasting time forcing this Jalen experiment.

Their current teams won't let them go. I would love to get Kelly Olynyk back here though - he would be the perfect backup center for Sengun.

Would love to get either of those guys and they fit out timeline better than some of the other names people throw out

Don't know if either is actually available though

No. The problem is playing through Sengun slows the game down. The Rockets need to play faster but can't because their center isn't a good rebounder which generates fastbreaks. We need a physical, rim running big that'll protect the rim & defend

Lost to Dallas, Nuggets and Lakers who are among the contenders this year. If we beat all of them guess what Rox good enough to go for a title.

Everybody needs to get some perspective this team was among the worst last year and to be at this point just 2 months into the new season is a major W already. Instead we get lots of complaints and belly aching lol wtf.

Orlando: 57 rebs to 31 rebs (us). 35.3% (us) from 3pt line to 26.5%
    Spurs: 32 rebs(us) to 31 rebs. 25% (us) vs 31%.
    GSW: 49 rebs to 42 rebs(us). 40% vs 27%(us).
    Clippers: 47 rebs to 47 rebs. 32.3%(us) vs. 38.2%
    Lakers: 34 rebs(us) to 42 rebs. 37.8%(us) vs 20.7%
    GSW: 48 rebs(us) to 43 rebs. 48.8% vs 31.7%(us).
    Dallas: 40 rebs(us) to 38 rebs. 35.3% vs 27.6% (us).
    Nuggets: 35 rebs(us) to 41 rebs. 39%(us) vs 44.2%
    Lakers: 54 rebs(us) to 48 (rebs). 35.5% vs 29.6%(us).

So the way i see it is, generally speaking,

    1) If team rebounds are close and we shoot worse from behind the arc we lose.
    2) If they get more rebound than us we lose even if we shoot better.
    3) We can win by hustling on defense even if we grab less rebounds (or grab the same amount of rebounds) and shoot worse than them but we are still far more likely to lose these games than win.

    We lost 9 games.

Lost Clippers and the Lakers game thanks to the refs. (2 games)
Lost the last Lakers games because of turnovers (16 to 9). 7 more turnovers. Those turnovers started that 30-2 sth run. (1)
Lost the both GSW games because they shoot better from 3pt line (2 games)
Lost Dallas game by 6. They made 4 more threes than us. That's 12 pts. (1)
Spurs game could have gone either way. (1)
Orlando game i don't remember why the **** we lose that one (1)

    In these losses Jalen was:

    1/6 from 3pt line (Lakers 3)
    5/8 (Nuggets)
    2/6 (Dallas)
    2/9 (GSW 2)
    2/5 (Lakers 2)
    1/6 (Clippers)
    1/5 (GSW 1)
    2/6 (Spurs)
    0/1 (Orlando)

So he was 16/52 which is.307 in the games we lost. Also if you are wondering he's averaging .39 in the games we won. You might say that ok he didn't shoot well from 3pt line but maybe he did make layups, was automatic midrang. No he wasn't i checked those too. When he's good he's good but when he's bad he is disgustingly bad.

So basically size isn't a major concer IMO. It's a concern but it isn't fixable. You can bring in someone like Gafford and play him 15-20 mins. Problem is you can't afford to have a high volume streaky shooter and when you have more than 2 nonshooters in your lineup you are in trouble. Jabari and FVV can make 3s. Dillon is making them this season. So we have 3 players who we can trust from the perimeter. Sengun took a leap but he's not there yet. So in the games where Jalen shoots terrible nobody can afford to shoot go 4/14 from the field. So we are sitting and hoping that our SG doesn't **** the bed. I want our shooting guard to be consistently efficient so that there will be a room for mistakes. If that dude shoots good Sengun's poor shooting nights will not cause much of an issue. FVV will have off nights and we will still win because we can count on our shooting guard saving us with a clutch 3. I'm a broken clock at this point but he needs to go.
