I legitimately think he's been coached very poorly, I don't think they utilized him correctly him in college. His worth ethic is questionable, and he played in a weak conference for sure. Very excited he landed here, our offensive system in perfect for him, we have a great coaching staff and player development. We will see if he's been either poorly coached/mis-utilized, or if he just has a bad IQ and is un-coachable/ has a poor work ethic within the next couple of seasons, I'm optimistic though.
Erik McCree and LJ Peak too. Damn those three guys could have (and probably should have) been drafted. Morey must have been selling open roster spots which is definitely interesting.
Yeah. Also consider simple things like leaving a weak school, Nevada, after two years vs Green staying at MSU for 4 yrs, and Harrell at Louisville for 3. The bad motor thing in an easy conference and jumping to the NBA after two years sounds like a typical easy-road, money-grab for an athletic freak...not to say kids shouldn't do that if they can. Teams might have sussed that out in interviews, hence why he went undrafted. Let's hope he shows up with a strong competitive fire like Green and Harrell did....although, without the kicking and shoving refs.
He's a undrafted player, don't expect him to come in and be a starter. He has some issues, hence "undrafted", but he does have tools to work with. That's all you look for in players like that. We need help with rebounding and rim protection and from the looks of it this kid could provide some of that. Hopefully he comes in with something to prove and is a willing worker. I guess we will see in summer league. I like the pickup.
Pinned this old tweet tonight, probably fired up after going undrafted. He actually went to the draft in person with his family. Lets hope he kills it for us.
not sure who is the better Draymond Green clone, him or Jordan Bell. Both were projected to be late 1st rounders. I predict one will be Draymond Green 2.0 and the other will be Joey Dorsey 2.0. Hopefully Rox win this bet but given their track record GSW will pick the hidden gem and Rox will end up with hot trash.
We'll see how undersized. 6'8" with 8' 10'1/4 standing reach + and 39.5 vertical. A 20 and 10 guy in college with 3.3 blocks and 38.4% from 3 pt range. Not bad for undrafted. He's got more offensive game than Harrell coming out of college.
Yeah I know thats why I said both were projected late 1st rounders at some point. The draft is so ambigous if GSW chose Oliver then maybe Bell wouldve been the one undrafted.
