I love his Foley fun fact and the vast knowledge of the game he has. He always does great interviews of opposing team's players/coaches/etc. He is well spoken, respectful, and represents the Rockets well.

 

Or the time when Gene actually blew the station off the air =)

 

Unforgettable moment in broadcast history. One of the refs yelled at Gene "You are an a**hole!" after the game and it came across clearly on the radio.

Of course the refs messed up huge but Gene may have been just a little over the top with how he flipped out. If someone has it, that whole sequence would be a great listen. I've never heard a replay but remember it well.

Gene and Jim embody all that is incredible about the Houston Rockets. They make the perfect team. I love Gene's PBP and catch phrases, and Jim's enthusiasm and the way his voice shakes when he's giddy after a big, emotional win. They're just a reminder of how much I love Houston and Rockets basketball. I hope they get to call a couple championships for us.
