    If the Grizz dont want to take on $12m in salary for Lee then why would they take on $13m for Shumpert?

    Because they are getting a first-round pick in return. The Mavs offer is Lee and a second round pick. Memphis is saying a 2nd round pick isn’t worth taking on any salary for this year. Either they find a team with a large enough trade exception or the cap space available to absorb Iguodala, buy him out, or take back nearly 13 million in the form of an expiring contract to get a first round pick.

    That said, with the Rockets trading two first-round picks and including two pick swaps with Oklahoma City, it makes it difficult to see an Iguodala trade happening now.
