If draft were today, Cam would likely be taken 2nd over Miller and Henderson. Can’t believe we got the second best player in the draft at pick twenty. With Eason back next week, be prepared for Cam’s playing time to be reduced significantly as he’ll be fighting with Tate for limited playing time.
Cam has been playing very well and it’s hard to not get excited. Definitely would not last until the 20th pick in a redraft, but he still has the same concerns (tunnel vision and some weird potential medical issue that may come up years later). Scoot finally started playing well and Miller has had some really good games. I don’t think they would pick Cam over who they drafted. Maybe premature to call him the 2nd best player in the draft. I will gladly eat crow if he ever overcomes his weaknesses and becomes the 2nd best player in this draft.
Yes, too early to tell. Can't really judge a draft after just half a season. I am happy he's looking great though and I do think he definitely should have gone in the top 10--but I always thought that, even well before draft day. Other teams were stupid to pass him up once he got past 6 or 7 or so.
Definitely an addition by subtraction move there with how rapidly our rookies have come along. Plus Tari will be back soon and Tate is the odd man out at that point.
Him and Amen are clearly in the top tier. I’d be curious how Ausar and Miller would look if they weren’t in dumpster fire organizations.
You don't have to trade Tate, you can simply bench him and use him in matchups or emergencies...he is a role player if we don't get value for him let him be a role player. And Cam may be the BEST player in the draft. DD
Worth reminding ourselves that we traded a washed PJ Tucker to try and get some young talent in the future..... and ended up with Cam Whitmore!! PJ for Cam? All day.
Didn't we also have to trade Eric Gordon to move up to number 20? So Cam was for Ego and PJ? Still a win win. DD
Lol you cannot be serious, because nobody in the NBA would have thought Cam was dropping to 20....nobody.....lol... This is like 1000 years kind of Event.....or when planet is created..
i knew cam was going to slip and that 20th pick would come good. just look at my post history on cam. you won’t find it. but i thought it. i promise.
They wanted Dereck Lively the Second at 20th but even that dude went way higher.....Brandin Podz was the next one. Dereck also has been a great Rookie. A taller Tyson Chandler and maybe better. You cannot go wrong with them but Cam obviously has the highest Ceiling.
Even if Cam didn't drop somebody else would. Bilal, Dereck Lively, Brandin Podz, Jaime JJ etc lots of guys could have dropped to 20 instead of Cam. This draft was pretty deep so getting pick 20 instead of 30 was huge. That's basically the difference between Alperen Sengun and Josh Christopher lol.
For the love of God DD, show mercy and don't become a Cam fan, hav mercy on his career. Isn't ruining KPJ with your Fandom enough?
