Let's do a 3 way for Boogie and send Paul back to NO.

I think it's doable but you have to get PG13 and cp3 now and then extend Capela and do a trade in December when he's eligible for cousins.

Cousins makes 17m a year that's prob what houston would have to pay to extend Capela add a 1st round pick and NO prob does it because if they are struggling which is likely they risk losing cousins for nothing.

Get Capela locked up with Davis for the next 3 years and see if that combo can get it done for them. It's an easy sell imo Capela is one of the young lanky centers who actually would be able to play with AD.

They would be really hard to score against down low and could potentially be a great defensive team as both guys can switch to and extent.

    On the rockets side

Cp3 harden PG13 and cousins is more top end talent than even golden state. Does it fit as well as golden state pieces? Maybe not, but the top end talent is stupid high and you have a major advantage over the Warriors at center.

This is entirely possible. Advisable? Not sure...but possible, yes.

    1) Trade Anderson and Williams for zero returning salary
    2) Sign CP3
    3) Trade Beverley and Wiltjer for Marcus Morris and a 1st
    3) Trade Gordon, 1st round pick from Beverley trade, Rockets own 2018 1st, Harrell and Taylor for Paul George
    4) Later in the year - Trade Ariza, Marcus Morris and Capela for Demarcus Cousins

    CP3 / (Free agent)
    Harden / (Room Exception)
    George / Troy Williams
    Dekker / (Free Agent)
    Cousins / Nene / Onuaku

Whats great is we wouldn't be near the luxury tax for 2017-2018. CP3 + Harden + George + Cousins would be right around $100 million. We would be a taxpayer in 2018-2019, but given that roster, I think Les would pay it.

Multiple analysts said this during the playoffs when teams tried to post him up and went nowhere.

If you don't think Harden can be a decent defender then you're blind.

We haven't even gotten CP3, still have to beat out LAC, SAS and probably others. And now we're talking about a dynasty featuring four olympians/perennial all-stars.

    Me am confuse.

Well yeah, that's the first domino that must fall for Morey to pull things out of his sleeve.

    Show me...

He's best at post up one on one defense. But it's not like he's stellar there. I vividly recall a David Lee for example taking him to the basket for an easy two... plus the Rockets became horroble rebounding.

Maybe you can find an article or two out of 50 that say Harden is a good or average defender but most people agree he sucks defensively.

Maybe it was hyperbole to say absolutley no one. I mean some guy voted Draymond Green fifth for DPOY so anything is possible.

He is a very good post defender.. this is his best attribute actually defensively, which makes him versatile in this regard.

Harden didn't suck defensively this past season or three seasons ago. He fell off in the 2015-16 season and definitely went back to sucking. He was at worst an average defender in 14-15 and 16-17.

Honestly as time goes on the fire or the chatter keeps getting hotter and louder. There seems to be something this.

It depends on Capela's development. He's pretty solid atm and his numbers should get better if we can get Paul on board.

harden is atleast a decent defender around the basket when guys try to post (that's why i would prefer him guarding bigger guys instead of wings) but other than that he still is pretty bad defensively no matter how many people want to disregard that and whatever excuses come along with it

I don't even like Boogie, but there's no way he wouldn't get a better package than that one.

Plus pairing Davis with a center who is ineffective when more than 3 feet away from the basket is just a bad idea and NOP knows this (especially after the failed Asik experiment).

It has been mentioned that the NBA has changed. There wouldn't be more than a handful of teams max willing to give up good assets for Cousins.

He is an unrestricted free agent after next year and will look to go to a winner that can pay him max money. With Bev, Ariza, Capela.. we may have a decent package to send to New Orleans. I do agree with jopat that a deal for PG or Cousins can/will happen BUT we need CP3 to commit first.

Boogie, with a year and a half left on his deal, was traded for the #10 pick and Hield.

Boogie with half a year left on his contract and 2 failed stops....I think Capela can get it done.

Exactly.. just depends on what we need to part with first to get CP3 to fit in cap wise. If we can simply dump Anderson and Lou...watch out!!
