Rockets acquire AJ Griffin

Adding Sheppard and Griffin immediately improves our bench shooting from last year.

While Adams isn't a Sengun level passer he's not bad and the screens he sets are like trying to get around a grizzly bear. Add a Tari and Cam, and that's a crazy good scoring group.

Griffin is a smart gamble and I'll be cheering for the young man to recoup a role and continue to improve (he's only 20 I believe).

When I saw this thread bumped, my first thought was they cut him.

lol. I have to admit that was my first thought too. I know it was only summer league, but watching him live in Vegas made me realize why Atl was so willing to part with him for a mid-2nd. But one of the upsides of the trade was converting that pick into an expiring salary asset, so at least there’s that Of course it’s only valuable as long as we actually make a trade.

 

He showed zero for me to get excited about, if he proves me wrong, all glory goes to him. Not counting on anything though.

 

He’s a trow in, in a trade. That way we don’t give up a player we actually like.

His experience on the team last year makes him a good camp body.
