This team can't move forward with FVV/Jalen Green as the PG/SG combination moving forward. They are way too inconsistent/volatile and having them on the ball 85% of our possessions is suicide. I'm just totally out on the tweener archetype and they are both tweeners. Amen should run the point and we need another wing at the 2 spot. Cody Williams is a good example of someone that would work. Sengun and Amen are the most sought after commodities in the league. Surround them with people that can ****ing shoot and not get bullied by the likes of Jalen Williams.

Why are you assuming that FVV has to sit for Amen to get minutes, though? That's what's puzzling. I see Amen as more of a 2-4 right now than I do a 1. Whether he's starting or coming off the bench, I see no reason why he can't get 30 minutes a game. And if I were to bench someone in favor of Amen, it wouldn't be Fred sitting, it would be Brooks. Or Green on those nights where he can't buy a bucket.

You and I are both aligned in that we recognize the massive potential in Amen. Where we seem to disagree is the notion that Fred is single-handedly holding him back and that he can't develop while FVV is the starting PG for the Rockets. I just don't see that as the case. As a starter this season post All-Star break, he averaged 14/10/4/2 and the vast majority of those games were with Fred in the starting lineup.

lol at extending Fred, that's just crazy to me. He's good on this team because we're still building with sticks and mud. He's just too damn short and streaky as hell.

Fred is 30 years old.....let him go. He's not that good.

When we switch everything he is forced into guarding a bigger guy. They did it every play
of attacking vs FVV and Jalen Green.

Now I expect Jalen Green to put on 10 pounds of muscle over the summer. Reports he and
his trainer are going to work out every day of the summer starting May 1st (approximately).

Green says he knows he needs to work on stamina. Plus he has a vertical leap. Fred VanVleet
is barely 5'10" and grounded. Let the over paid average joe go man.

He is not getting us over the hump. Lowry was the starter and Fred came off the bench
when he won a championship. He hasn't done much as a starter.

...and my team would kick your teams a**, with much less payroll

Amen is 3 years away from playing for FVV, he can replace Brooks tomorrow. Amen replacing FVV is a terrible, terrible idea. Reducing the quality of ball handlers is not the way to go, it should be the opposite.

You're not really answering or responding to any of my questions, and notice that nobody is agreeing with you. It's fine, though. We can agree to disagree. But in the end it's a moot point, because I'd bet my entire 401K that Fred is a Rocket to start next season. He's Ime's guy, and he helps them win games. He's not going anywhere this summer, and you'll have to come to terms with that. Period.

I'm gonna move on. You do you, chief.

Can't help but be jealous of what OKC has done in just a matter of a few years.

Hopefully the Rockets young guys continue to develop under Ime Udoka.

Seeing the Texans turnaround so quickly might make us have to slow down our expectations for the Rockets. But man is it exciting and the Rockets future looks promising so far.

Ok, yeah I'm not reading what you are writing.

You are thinking old school conventional position basketball, where I've moved
on to position-less basketball where everyone switches on D and everyone
tries to get 4-5 assists, everyone is asked to rebound, everyone runs the floor
fast and furious, everyone shoots 3's, everyone can dribble 2 times and
    pass (per Popovich way).

Don't need to rely on only one Fred VanVleet to be successful

FVV is fine as the PG. We need shooters at all other positions.

Im trading Brooks. Maybe even for just a future protected first. If needed, I’m using that asset to make sure I lock up Reed Sheppard. I think Sheppard will take 1-2 years to contribute to NBA team. Sheppard unavailable and I’m taking Salaun.

Im going for a shooter with the MLE.

Im playing Amen at SF but a lot of his minutes at backup pg. FVV plays less. Jalen starts season at SG but goes to bench or trade if he cant get 3ball to 36%.

Look. No one was terrible. Now one "played their way off the team"
I think a solid group that needs some tweaks.
Some peices don't fit or are redundant

Sengun/Green/Bari/Tari/Amen/Whitmore - all should be coming back (no one over 23 yrs old - Too young to give up on)
FVV/Dillon/Green should all be coming back

Steve Adams and Landale - available for Upgrades but honestly I like them and want to see what one more year does
I won't be mad if Holiday and Tate comes back (reasonable cost)

Drafting a Shooter or a BIG BIG

I’m not doing much this offseason, and I’d trade their 1sr rounder. No more room on the roster and enough young players. And they'll all be a year older and better. I’m perfectly happy with this going into next season.

    C - Sengun
    PF - Jabari
    SF - Brooks
    SG - Green
    PG - FV
    ____________
    6th - Tari
    7th - Amen
    8th - Cam
    9th - Adams

    10th - Holliday
    11th - Uncle Jeff
    12th - Jock
    13th - Tate

    14th - Bobi

could maybe package Tate and the first rounder for another PG. I don’t think Amen will end up being a PG. that’s about all I’d do.
