When I read it, it seemed like an Indiana negotiations tactic. "Oh we don't want to wait for free agency when Boston would be willing to give us what we want, we wanna do it beforehand" It even could be Boston "we will give up better package if Indy waits", knowing if Indy waits other teams could move on and then they get him for the same package they've been offering. Seems like pressuring/negotiation, but then again woj doesn't typically play along with this kind of ****.
He's the guy who made the Boston 3 happen. Now it's the time. He may have sat on his assets for now, but now it's the chance to repeat his past accomplishment and have again a championship contender. Coz if they don't get another star now they won't have anymore capspace esp for a max paid star. And in any case Indiana isn't like the Bulls. They are better negotiators and can say no.
Right, the writing is on the wall. Ainge is going to pull the trigger if he can build his "slightly less than 'big' 4." Horford/IT/Gor-dahn/George He sees it, he's going to make it happen if he can.
and this one is from a Celtics journalist. Closer to the prize, the price goes up. At least one premium asset. Maybe even two.
I was thinking in 4. Boston would be drained from their 4-3 ECF series win over Cavs. Meanwhile GSW sweep through the West.
I agree lol, that Boston team would be great (assuming George stays there next year btw), but the Warriors have two MVP caliber players, the Celtics would have none.
I think that Boston lineup could give GS a pretty tough series. I think they'd do better than the Cavs. They'll lose tho because they'd still lack that 1 elite level superstar.
I thought last year George made a big fuss about not wanting to play pf full time. Now they will want him to extend to be a full time pf?
Funny thing Boston would still lose to the Warriors in 6 at best if Klay goes down Only chance BOS (and others) have is to accumulate all the star players they can and hope for an injury to Durant, Curry or Draymond
Seeing what Boogie Cousins went for, I'll be dissapointed if George is traded for a similar package and the Rockets didn't take the bait. Would you give up Dekker (with other pieces obviously) for a George rental? Or Capela for that matter? Seems Pacers want young players and picks more than they would want Beverley or EG for instance.
Beverley could "net" them a pick. From a salary point of view, the Rockets offer starts with Eric Gordon (12M). Boston's offer starts with Avery Bradley (8M). Then add picks/young players on top of that.
