I do not wish ill on the competition but the Blazers have had an unbelievable string of good luck when it comes to major injuries to starters. Lopez is a key piece to their team and I will be surprised if they do much better than .500 while he is out. Their only recent injury that I know of to a main contributor is Lillard who is wearing a splint for 2 sprained fingers at the moment. It is amazing how many times they had the same starting 5 last year. I think it was something like 77 games or so.
^He's talking about last year, and he's right Kaman isn't a slouch, but the defense will undeniably suffer Good thing we play them on Monday
Recent luck, meaning last season and this season. I guess you could say they were due but it is really amazing to me.
This guy is an important piece to them...really complements LMA. It will be interesting to see how they react.
The Trailblazers weren't just lucky last year, they were the luckiest team in NBA HISTORY, as it pertains to health. The starting line-up, all 5 guys, started 397 out of a possible 410 times (82 games for everyone except 69 for Aldridge). That's the highest number ever. Robin Lopez's injury was not bad luck, it was inevitable. It was Sister Karma taking a bat to his hand, on behalf of the rest of the injured players in the NBA. No one wishes ill on any Portland players, but we certainly don't have sympathy for them.
Kaman was a great pickup for them but playing more minutes could diminish his effectiveness. Lopez being out a month shouldn't hurt them too much.
This is huge for the Thunder. They could end up being the 4 seed if they can manage to close the gap with Portland.
Yeah, but if you think about it, the Blazers have been one of the unluckiest teams in recent history with their injury woes(Roy, Oden). So they were due to have a season where everyone managed to stay healthy.
