Do you also believe that Harden's style is first and foremost, a foul-baiting style?

    Because that's the corollary.

Yes. A "specific data point" that includes more than half of the available data...

Was he faulting him? He just said he doesn't find it entertaining to watch.

Well the Spurs were 7th best in the league in FTA against. The Warriors were 15th. The Cavs were were 3rd.

I'm just guessing, but I suspect as you go deeper into the playoffs, teams get better at defense, which often might mean they commit fewer fouls while still contesting. Bear in mind the GSW play at a much faster pace... not sure what the team stats are per 100 possessions, but GSW would improve ranking wise.

If the point is that its potentially a problem, that still might be true if you look at it by round.

Anyone know Harden's FTA by round for his career?

The real reason the Rockets lost. Just ran out of fuel, you can only go so far with one superstar, especially one as flawed as James is. No one had us beating the Spurs in a playoff series before the season, Rockets overachieved the entire year and ended with a disappointment, not the end of the world.

Ah well, let's hope Morey can work his magic and improve this team even more.

His free throw rate declined three of the past four playoffs.

It's not just James, it's just teams can game plan to not foul is my theory. Which the spurs did

Horry a real one. James Harden is trash and the headline prolific loser of the NBA. This could have been easily fixed with a defensive havin no **** coach but FO keeps hiring "yes men". Our only hope is for LeBron to buy the Rockets when he retires

Horry isn't the first person to say this and I doubt he will be the last. When you play for the foul instead of actually trying to score, people are gonna get upset and call you a foul baiter. Couple that with harden's less athletic style of play compared to his superstar peers, it isn't hard to see why people from other teams dislike him.

I like watching the Rockets win so I can tolerate his play but I don't think I would if he played for someone else. You wouldn't play like Harden does out at 24 hour fitness or the YMCA.

he probably doesn't watch nba basketball because the league is not entertaining to watch outside of the finals. Be honest, have you watched any playoff games outside of the Rockets? i admit i may have caught

if he said yeah I watch many NBA games and teams on a regular basis and I love watching the NBA but I hate the Rockets then that would mean something. if he just said I only watch games because it's my job and I have to watch the Rockets and out of all the teams that I watch they are the most boring ones then yeah maybe that would even mean something.

but i doubt he watches anything besides the end of a few playoff games, a few Rockets games, and the finals. so what he said doesn't mean anything. of coarse the Rockets are more boring than two superteams

The main reason why u wouldn't play like Harden does at 24 Hour Fitness or the YMCA is because playing for the foul in pickup is completely pointless. There's no such thing as foul trouble, and you're not going to the free throw line. I play in a few leagues and I do see people using some of Harden's tactics or various other moves to get to the line. I use the pump fake, get the defender into the air, and lean into them to draw the foul maneuver and I also use Harden's keep the ball down and exposed while driving into a crowded paint so that people can slap at your arms technique. Those are easy points.

I don't blame him. They're not going anywhere with D'Antoni as their coach.

So many blind homers acting like Harden doesn't go above and beyond in trying to get the call. There have been stretches where Harden allowed a game to go out of reach because he tried to get the call rather than make an effort to finish at the rim. So many embarrassing air ball three pointers because he tried to get the call instead of attempting an actual shot.

And yes, that can get real ugly.
