I remember when the videos of 15 year old Rubio making beautiful passes in some far away land first hit the Internet. They were amazing and I bought in to it. As a pro, it took him a long, long time to find out how to contribute to a winning team in spite of his shooting issues. Though anyone who searches my posts on Rubio here will see I was usually hard on him, he was a solid rotational player towards the end and Cleveland got worse when he left. I wonder how much of his initial disappointment and slow start to his career was due to Minnesota/Kahn. We'll never know. In any case, I hope he made a **** ton of money and lives well on a beautiful beach in Spain. May we all be so lucky. Evidence of me not being a Rubio booster: There were several more. But y'all get the idea: I had a problem. But hey, at one point in 2012, I apparently liked Rubio!
What's up with Cleveland and mental health? Kevin Love had issues. LeBron and Ty Lue. Delonte West. JR Smith. Now, Rubio.
Could be that he is not the only one in his family because it sounded like there was a major issue in his family as well.....that he had to fly back to Spain as early as possible. Oh well, we would not know for the time being..... hope he gets the help ...you do not want to see anything happen to him. Cleveland can move on.
It's Cleveland, I mean, what do you expect? Gotta get out of that dump or you go nuts. Even Lebron left, twice mind you, and still seems mentally off to me.
In the Players Tribune a couple of years back, he wrote about his struggles when his mom was battling, and sadly losing to, cancer. Itwas during his early years in Minnesota.
Ricky Rubio officially announces he will train with FC Barcelona Then, it was time for the official announcement. “My next step was to ask FC Barcelona if I could, without any commitment and without interrupting their seasonal plans, train with them. I want to thank in advance for the help and understanding of my situation. Finally, I wanted to thank everyone who has shown their respect and support in this process, as well as I appreciate the respect for my privacy in this journey”, the Spanish magician also added. Rubio was not good. Never efficient, couldn't create off the dribble & overrated defender. He was a bricklayer
