I saw this on Fark. The Mets are letting fans vote on a song to be played every home game for a "sing-a-long." There is an online effort to have Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up" be that song. With enough votes, it may win as a write-in candidate. Here's the link to the voting page: http://newyork.mets.mlb.com/nym/fan_forum/singalong_vote_form.jsp Here are some NY-area zip codes to enter: 11790 11780 11787 11727 11772 11764 Here is an article on the phenomenon of Rickrolling, which includes some info on Rickrolling if you have no idea what I'm talking about: http://www.internetisseriousbusiness.com
Awesome. I'm sure they'll get wind of this if it happens to win, but it's nice to think that it could work. **** the mets.
i used my yahoo email, and just made up a phone number with a NY area code those are: 212, 315, 347, 516, 518, 585, 607, 631, 646, 716, 718, 845, 914, 917
holy crap, when i was in new york city, there were only 3 area codes 212 - manhattan 718 - other 4 boroughs 917 - cellphone
Will we need real email addresses? I've just been using this Name: Joe Italianname and then joeyitalianname@_______.com
Thank god I didn't click on that, I just noticed the URL. Is this fark thing even real or was this hippieloser just trying to rick roll us?
No, it's real. I just figured http://www.internetisseriousbusiness.com was the easiest way to explain rickrolls to the unfamiliar. Now go vote!

I consider myself up on pop culture, internet, video, etc...but I've never found the RickRoll stuff to be funny. I get that the song is funny, catchy, lame, whatever, but that's it. Anyone else agree with me?
I think it's supposed to be annoying more than anything. Then weird people started liking it.. me excluded. You shove something really annoying down people's throat enough.. and they might just start liking it. Much like that girl Sanjaya from American Idol.
