I'm not one for promoting anything, but I feel like I have to give a head's up to those in Houston. I was browsing through the features of downtown Houston online (I'm planning a trip since I haven't been to Houston in over six years) and saw that a restaurant, Chicken Kitchen, is opening this Thursday at the Shops at Houston Center. If you've never heard of it, definitely check it out. Apparently there are more than one locations in the Houston area. I used to go there once or twice a week down in Florida. I didn't know they expanded, but it's a unique place with a fairly simply menu. Fresh food and a satisfying meal. They've got a promo for the grand opening at Houston Center: http://www.shopsathc.com/shc/promo4.asp
Chicken Kitchen is awesome. They even deliver free of charge. The Texans eat there all the time. I've seen Darius Walker, Eric Winston, Chester Pitts, Ephraim Salaam, and Steve Slaton there.
I've only tried the chicken from there. It's not bad. I prefer the KFC chicken grilled chicken though. Odd? probably.
They've been open for at least a few months now in the Shops. I've eaten there quite a bit. Love their regular Chop Chop with Curry Sauce. But their Mexican and Chinese style chicken sucks ass.
I haven't tried KFC's grilled chicken yet I usually get the original recipe. Then I go to Churches chicken and get their biscuits.
