As soon as we drafted that guy, I thought to myself, "The folks at Clutch are gonna have a FIELD DAY with this poor guy's name!" Totally agree. No one expects a freshly-drafted baseball player to make an impact immediately. They work out their problems in the minors and come to the majors when A.) they're good enough and B.) the team needs them. That's exactly what the Rockets need at this point.
No regrets, but I still would like to see another legit big man added to the roster in case of injury... We really need to unload one or two guards along with Baker and we'll be set and every one else can watch our win totals go as high 60 -65 this year!
Maybe Head should change his name to please MrButtocks. Luther Butt. Or the one I like. Luther Mouth.
I enjoy a little head as much as the next guy, but please... The hackneyed JR High 'Head' jokes got old after the first couple hundred times. Give the dude a little respect, surely after all this time he has earned it.
Lol - I don't think this board is capable of having a real conversation bout Luther Head without throwin in at least a couple of head Jokes.
No, all judgments must be made based on summer league performance only. Thus, I am DEMANDING that CD pursue Loren Woods, Zoran Planinic, and Nikolov Tsikitshvilli AT ALL COSTS!
Butt isn't saying he's going to be a bust, he's just saying we drafted for the wrong position considering how many guards we have. They did that draft, in my reckoning, thinking they would trade away 2 guards. They signed DA thinking they would trade away 2 guards. I think they are still thinking that now. Will the draft make more sense if we have 5 guards instead of 7? I think so.
With JVG reluctant to play young players until they learn the ropes i think it was a good idea to bring in DA. You know Head is not going to get that much time on the floor so he might as well learn in practice and actually learn from his mistakes. Right now we need a core of role players that are seasoned vetrans. We can't rely on a young set of role players to surround Yao, T-Mac and Swift. I think it's an ideal way to have Head come off the bench behind the rest of the guards and get some experience while keeping his mistakes to a minimum. We all know what happens if he doesn't preform or makes mistakes as a rookie...he will be in the dog house and not play at all.
