LINK Imagine walking through the nearest mall and suddenly feeling a stabbing pain on your backside and seeing blood. Troy resident Caitlin Henry, 23, moved to the Fairfax, Virginia area on Saturday for a teaching job, and she is afraid of this happening to her. Six women in their late teens and early 20s have reported being slashed on the butt with a razor or box cutter within the last six months at Fair Oaks Mall. Before they notice they have been cut, the suspect, who has been described as a heavy set Hispanic man approximately 5-feet-6-inches tall in his late 20s, is gone. CBS News affiliate WUSA recently reported that one of the victims was visibly pregnant, and suffered a deep three-inch gash on her buttocks. When she reached down and realized she was cut, she yelled to him, “Hey you cut my leggings,” and he said it was just his bag. The attacks have occurred in various locations in the Fairfax area, the CBS station reported. Fairfax County Police have released new, significantly clearer images of a suspect. The surveillance photographs show the suspect is Hispanic, about 5-feet-6-inches tall and heavyset. He allegedly distracts his young female victims while they shop. Henry said she heard about the serial slasher while listening to Farmington Hills-based radio show Mojo in the Morning. She said she couldn’t believe, of all places, this was happening 19 miles from where she was moving. “Fair Oaks is one of the largest malls in the area without going into Washington D.C. I am a little worried about going to Fair Oaks as I fit the description of this man's targeted victims,” said Henry. “I might go a little further out of my way to avoid this mall just because I am nervous that this could happen to me.” According to police reports, the latest attack occurred to an 18-year-old woman at Forever 21 around 5:30 p.m. on Monday, July 25. “I would encourage everyone to make sure that they are aware of their surroundings. Things like this could happen anywhere,” said Henry. Jesse Richardson wrote on the Oakland Press’ Facebook: “I'd be prepared and wear my titanium steel underwear.
