She should probably figure out her for/against answer first before criticizing others.

Joe Biden's fundraising numbers are falling off. Also, Pocahontas has closed within two in the RCP national poll average. It is a dead heat, with Joe Biden going down.

Biden's 'devastating' fundraising haul a loud warning for once-unrivaled front-runner

First, he lost his clear lead in the polls over the rest of the record-setting field of Democratic presidential contenders. Now, former Vice President Joe Biden has been eclipsed by three of his rivals for their party’s 2020 nomination in the crucial race for campaign cash. Democratic strategists say the "devastating number" is a clear warning sign for Biden as he battles to be his party's 2020 standard-bearer. Even the candidate acknowledges the deficit.

“We haven't raised what a lot of people have -- we got started way later than everybody else, but we’ve raised, this last quarter, $15 million, in the middle of summer,” Biden said Thursday at a fundraising event in Palo Alto, Calif.

The $15.2 million the former vice president brought in during the July-September third quarter of fundraising was down more than $6 million from the $21.5 million he raised in the April-June quarter. Perhaps more telling is the fact that it is far behind the $25.3 million that Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont collected in the past three months, and the $24.6 million that Sen. Elizabeth Warren raised.

Since the success of Biden's candidacy was going to be the inevitability of his eventual victory, this is not a good look for him. This looks like the beginning of the end for old Joe. Perhaps this is premature, but somehow I do not think so.

Unemployment hit a 50-year low in September at 3.5%

    https://www.wsj.com/articles/u-s-se...570192288?mod=article_inline&mod=hp_lead_pos1

    excerpt:

U.S. unemployment dropped to a half-century low in September and job growth continued at a modest pace, signs the economy is holding up despite a broader global slowdown.

The jobless rate dropped to 3.5% in September from 3.7% in August, marking the lowest rate since December 1969 when it also logged in at 3.5%. Employers added 136,000 jobs in September, and payrolls for August and July were revised up, the Labor Department reported Friday.

Job gains and historically low unemployment have helped buffer the U.S. economy against weakness in manufacturing at home and abroad that have stoked concerns of a deepening slowdown.

A falling unemployment rate should allay fears of a recession, said Josh Wright, chief economist at iCIMS Inc., a maker of employee-recruiting software.

“There were a lot of concerns that we were going to start rolling downhill and accelerating in the wrong direction, and the fact that we didn’t do that is itself a win,” Mr. Wright said.

U.S. stocks rose on Friday after the jobs report helped ease market fears about an economic slowdown.

The employment report, along with recent surveys hinting at manufacturing and service-sector activity weakness, are likely to keep open the possibility of a Federal Reserve interest-rate cut later this month. The Fed lowered its benchmark rate in July and September to cushion the economy against the risks of trade tensions and cooling global growth.

Fed Chairman Jerome Powell in a Friday speech said the economy faces some growth risks but remains in a good place overall. “Our job is to keep it there as long as possible,” he said in remarks set for delivery Friday at a conference held at the central bank’s Washington headquarters.

Other central banks around the world also have cut their key interest rates this year as the global economy lost momentum.

Manufacturing has been a key factor behind the slowdown. Earlier this week, readings on U.S. manufacturing activity indicated September growth was at its slowest pace since 2009. Manufacturers cut jobs last month for the second time this year.

The services sector, which accounts for a much larger portion of the economy than manufacturing, was still expanding, albeit at the slowest pace in three years. Industries, including health care, transportation and business services, added jobs at a robust clip.

Average weekly hours remained unchanged in September, a positive sign given employers tend to cut hours when the economy is downshifting.

I am 3/16 Cherokee Indian. So you can bite me.

And no, I am not going to be bullied by you or anyone else into complying with the Democrat left's incredibly vile "Political correctness" or "Identity politics agendas. It is not happening. Not now. Not ever.

I mean the Democrats lost 2016 on a very strong economy also.

There are also signs outside of unemployment. For example Americans have broken a record bfor consumer debt. We live a force feed supply side economic system where wealthy people get tax breaks, "invest" without paying attention to demand and consumers buying regardless of what is in their savings account and financing everything which then leads to people defaulting or paying of debts instead of buying new things and that is how you get a crash.

Bernie Sanders had a heart attack, his doctors said, as they released him from the hospital. This is of course not automatically disqualifying for Sanders as a presidential candidate. But in the end, people vote FOR a candidate and this is not going to help his campaign.

Sanders Had Heart Attack, His Doctors Say as He Leaves Hospital

Sen. Bernie Sanders was released from the hospital Friday evening after doctors say he had a heart attack earlier in the week.

The 2020 presidential hopeful felt chest discomfort during a campaign event in Las Vegas Tuesday. He had a blockage in one artery and two stents were inserted, his campaign said earlier this week.
Sanders' treating physicians Arturo E. Marchand Jr and Arun Guraraj released a statement via the campaign Friday saying that Sanders was “diagnosed with a myocardial infarction” at another facility before being transferred to Desert Springs Hospital Medical Center. A myocardial infarction is the medical term for a heart attack.

“After two and a half days in the hospital, I feel great, and after taking a short time off, I look forward to getting back to work,” Sanders, 78, said in a statement Friday.

And also there is the physical damage that results from an episode like this, especially for a man his age. He says he will be back out on the campaign trail after a short time. But will he? And if he is, will he still have the same vigor, strength and stamina? Heart attacks frequently result in death, after all. This is no minor matter.

In any case, with Joe Biden trending down and Bernie Sanders on the mend, the way appears to be opening up for Pocahontas to take over the leading position for the nomination. Whether she can hold onto it or not remains to be seen.

But the more of Bernie Sanders support she can pick up, the better. Because as Joe Biden continues to fade, that is going to create an increasingly apparent vacuum on the more moderate wing of the contest. And we all know that nature (at least here on Earth) abhors a vacuum.

The Labor Force participation rate is also at its lowest point in 40 years which is a huge reason for the unemployment rate being so low and jobs created numbers going down.

    https://tradingeconomics.com/united-states/labor-force-participation-rate

Basically, more people are retiring, which is good for unemployment numbers, but may not be great for the future economy. This isn’t a Trump or Republican issue, but a US government issue in that everybody has kicked that Social Security issue down the road and not dealt with the fact that the workforce isn’t going to be able to cover Social Security at some point (likely at the end of the next decade).

This exactly argument is why I support Yang.

This dude has a degree in economics (doesn’t necessarily mean anything) and is always looking at the numbers

It’s his thought process I like most . I’m in favor of many of his individual policies , but I think he’d change them if new information came to light and something else seemed like a better plan

I'm pretty sure I'm going to Caucus for Yang in Nevada earlier next year. Obviously a long shot, but if he finishes the primaries strong, some of his policies may be getting a second look from the eventual winner.
