I was honestly asking. You said it (or I read it) like the conventional wisdom would dictate that an establishment Democratic newspaper would want to hide the fact that the Iowa Democrats completely screwed up their primary. And I don't know why you'd expect that.

    It was a total meltdown.

The difference with left leaning publications and the right leaning ones are that they will call a spade a spade and not try to spin this.

But hey anything to own the libs, right?

The Dems pretty much "owned" themselves on this one. This is all on them and nobody else.

Bernie Sanders takes the lead in the RCP "betting odds" average - by 16.7 points.

Over Michael Bloomberg, who has now climbed into second place ahead of Joe Biden. Wow.

    RCP "betting odds" average
    37.8 - Sanders
    21.1 - Bloomberg
    18.3 - Biden
    16.4 - Buttigieg
    07.5 - Warren
    04.7 - Clinton (Hillary)

Bernie leading in these odds by 16 points and Bloomberg is second. Who would have believed this even two weeks ago?

Executive order is a b****, maybe he'll declare it a national security emergency or what the hell not. This is what happens when you leave the executive branch unchecked.

He can. It says so right in the article. The FDA and DEA control how drugs are scheduled, and both are part of the executive branch.

These agencies do not have the authority to "legalize" these drugs nationwide. They might have the authority to effectively "decriminalize" these drugs, but that is a very different thing.

These drugs are illegal as a result of an act of Congress, signed into law by the President at that time, whoever that was. It will take a modification of that law to allow the state laws to prevail under certain limited circumstances. That is probably more possible and more likely than you might think.

If the Democrats were to stop being so aggressively uncooperative with regards to stuff like this, we would probably see something get passed through Congress and it is likely that President Trump would sign it into law.

As far as Bernie signing an executive order, of course he could sign such an order for any reason he likes, up to and including an order revoking the US Constitution and our Declaration of Independence as well. But these orders would of course be challenged in court and overturned, as would any executive order that "legalized" these drugs nationally.

Chris Matthews nominates Adam Schiff to run for the Democratic Party presidential nomination

    https://freebeacon.com/politics/chr...-schiff-as-dem-savior-in-brokered-convention/

    excerpt:

As establishment Democrats grow wary of a Sen. Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.) nomination, MSNBC anchor Chris Matthews raised the possibility of Rep. Adam Schiff (D., Calif.) emerging as the Democratic nominee during a contested convention.

"How about Adam Schiff?" Matthews asked during a discussion about the primary nomination. "Could they all agree let’s give it to Schiff?"
