Why does Goodell need until February to come up with a new personal conduct model? It should just be NO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE! Your kicked out of the league with the first charge

So it doesn't matter if the player is ultimately found innocent or guilty? It doesn't matter the extent of the charge? Do you really think the NFLPA is going to go along with that?
This tells me the Ravens saw the elevator footage well before it was leaked by TMZ, and refused to take action. Could be wrong, but this is what I suspect.
I was listening to it via a stream on my phone, and sounded like there was a heckler of some sort? Screaming don't take me to the elevator. Made me laugh... EDIT:

Goodell was in good standing until he fell to public pressure. I really don't care if he saw the video or not. He made a decision based on the current Policy of the NFL and legal proceedings. He was in good standing. He could defend that position. It's when he changed his mind that he got in trouble. This is typical of all politicians and public leaders. His best move would have been to hold to the policy, insist on review of the policy and then change or expand it. Think the public could have lived with that. The sponsors may have backed out, but they would come back. I think he will be unfairly judged when the true issue was with Ray Rice. Same thing happened in the Sandusky Case with Joe Paterno. The wrong men were being crucified. Let them fix the problem. Leadership is being held to a standard that not even those judging them can live up too. Damned if you do and damned if you don't. There are better solutions than going after Goodell. I hate Goodell for looking the other way on the Belicheck scandal. But not the target here. Let him try to change the system.
Summary from the ESPN Article: 1. Ray Rice KO his wife 2. The Ravens FO attained all assoc videos 3. Rice's Defense lawyer fought hard to obtain a treatment intervention program for Rice instead of prison time. 4. The Ravens owner, president and GM orchestrated a cover up and tried to silence this mess, and get Ray back on the field ASAP. 5. John Harbaugh, the headcoach, pleaded with the Ravens higher ups to cut Rice and other players who were discipline issues (after seeing the video); who was rejected by Ravens higher ups...And Harbaugh became the Ravens media puppet. 6. During the disciplinary meeting, Rice told Goodell the extent of the madness...His wife, pleaded for mercy for a lesser sentence. Assuming Goodell didnt see the video at that time, and chose not to further pursue the video. 7. Goodell suggested a harsher punishment for Rice, but the Ravens higher ups lobbied him for the 2 game suspension. 8. TMZ destroys the NFL, the Ravens, and Goodell with the shocking inside elevator video...
I don't know about you but if it were me, my employer wouldn't be trying to sweep this deal under the rug for me and hiring special attorneys setting up sweetheart backdoored deals. I'd have to face the music as an everyday Joe.
Any other job and he would not have gotten the pre trial intervention program that kept him out of jail.
This does explain why the DA pulled the case out of the hands of the Domestic Violence Unit. It was reported they were furious that not only did the DA pull the case from them, but agreed to PTI in a crime that they said would never have been offered under normal circumstances. I'm guessing the pressure and offers for season tickets from the Ravens, NFL and Peterson's lawyer was very substantial.
Other owners need to force Bisciotti to sell the team, ala Sterling/NBA. New ownership can clean house minus Harbaugh.
nah, league can step in. Maybe owner needs to go too -- need all the facts see Sterling, Donald about what might be possible, as an analogy
