and when you ignore evidence that's staring you in the face, that says something as well.

Not to mention the fact that you're quoting a piece written by Bernard Goldberg, who has a personal vendetta against CBS and Rather.

A journalist without a vendetta is a bad journalist.

There's no evidence. There's Goldberg's presentation of what the report says in one paragraph and given his history, one must assume bias. And really, a report sits around for four years and nobody sees this dynamite info until someone whispers in Goldberg's ear to look at a certain page? The Bush administration didn't push the fact that Bush "volunteered to got to Vietnam" at a time when it would have been most advantageous for them to do so? No groups like the Swiftboaters dug up these people and put them in front of a camera to say Bush volunteered? This strains credulity.

But neither does he quote from it. He just references a page and tells us what is there.

    You mean like this?

Why did you start the thread then? To illustrate the folly of your own ways? We already knew that....

well, we know the man's a liar, so you can't really trust the words that come out of his mouth.

"didn't enlist to go." this is consistent with the initial intake process, and is no doubt true.

doesn't change the fact that he may have subsequently volunteered to go.

    Can you read?

Russert: But you didn't volunteer or enlist to go.

    President Bush: No, I didn't. You're right.

Your thread title is that he volunteered. Now it's "he may have volunteered"? Which is it?

And basso's retroactive rehabilitation of Bush's honor ends with a fizzle instead of bang. Who could have predicted this outcome?

the docs Mapes produced, and that Rather used were proven fakes. they also ignored contradictory evidence.
