    we own several apts and townhomes/duplexes in the montrose area... it may be "gay," but that part of town rules.

    i'm a tanglewooder, but i still rep the ITL. grew up in the 281 and you couldn't pay me to move out to the burbs.

    I used to live in the 281's.. then I moved out to a 713 and got broke.. and now I can't even afford any a those 3 digits.

    Some of us 281ers have sense. I'll take a beautiful sunset or a relaxing cruise in the boat over the lake/gulf and a cold brew over the inner loop anyday. The smell of salt water also never gets old.

    (Gulp...) I kind of like the 'burbs. I like going to the humongous HEB on Grand Parkway to do my grocery shopping. I like going to Wal-Marts where I don't fear for my life. I like not hearing the wail of police sirens and ambulances every night (like I do as a 713er at the UH dorms).

    I love visiting Montrose and going to all the vintage shops and one of my favorite hangouts now is a nice little coffee house/venue called Mojo Risin on Shepherd. I enjoy walking around nice parts of town and experiencing what the city has to offer.

    But I like going home to the quiet suburbs at night. If this makes me a dull person, so be it. :cool:
