Did someone say greatest shot in Rockets history? How about the moment we all knew the city of Houston had its first championship

 

I love the Maxwell shot. trust me on that.

I do have to say the Sampson shot was the greatest. Maxwell had the clutch 3, but that wouldn't happen if Dream didn't have the clutch block in game 6 and Sam having the clutch 3 in game 3.

Sampson had to play with Dream out of the game due to crony tactics of Riley and Kupchack. So Sampson had to carry the load and the game was SIGNIFICANT, if the Rockets lost in LA, they might get the momentum back and that team was load with Hall of Famers .

We're talking the Lakers dynasty of the 80s, a team that would wipe out most teams today without breaking a sweat.

Sampson and the heroes of 86, hit the "shot". that will forever be the "SHOT". That shot sent the Rockets to the Finals , Michael Cooper to the floor .

it was like Hulk Hogan body slamming Andre the Giant, it was that big.

 

Yep, "the shot" was the greatest. Nobody believed we could beat the mighty Lakers before the series.

Ralph was supposed to be "the Player of the Century." Too bad injuries cut his career short.

 

let's also add the difficulty of that shot, it was very difficult, 1 second left.

Maxwell was wide open and a kick out by Dream at the friendly confines of the legendary Summit where a packed house of Houstonians were cheering.

Ralph was in the evil Forum in Inglewood . With evil people in the stands and overpaid actors yelling at him.

Congratulations to the other half of our former Twin Towers. I still dream of what could have been if Ralph had stayed healthy. I would take either Ralph or Dream over Yao any day.

Yep Ralph Sampson was a phenomenal player and deserves to be in the HOF. He was 7'-4" yet could run the floor like a wing.

 

I remember Ralph going coast to coast for a one man fastbreak. I wonder if there's a video of that play. The only 7-footer I've seen doing that.
