    This is bad, but... I hate that I didn't get to get in just one post in that thread before it got the inevitable lock. :D It was just too funny. Darn that class I had to teach that lasted all morning... some of y'all apparently get paid a lot for surfing and posting all day. :)

    When you're shooting a rifle with a scope, how come the bullet hits where you're aiming. I mean, the gun barrel is below the scope. So, shouldn't the bullet hit below whatever you're aiming at?

    Scope is set at a slight downward angle so that at some point the scope's line of sight will intersect with the bullet's trajectory - at the approximate distance the target is away from the gun - if done right.

    Re : sic. I believe it is used when you are quoting someone and they misspell something - you put sic in there to let people know the person you're quoting is the illiterate boob, not you.

    How do they get oil from vegetables, corn, peanuts, canolas, olives, etc.? What vegetables do they get vegetable oil from? What the hell is a canola?
