Real jobs don't necessarily mean 8-5, Monday thry Friday. Believe me! I work a rotating shift, 4am till 4pm OR 4pm till 4am. Weekends, weekdays, 3 on, 4 off, four on, one off, up down....sometimes I don't know what day of the week it is. Of course, I rarely "work" while at work, so it's all good! ------------------ It looks like a veteran can Be had.
Some advice from an accounting graduate from UH: Not having an internship may hurt. I know it hurt in my case. Though my advice would be to be persistent & not let yourself get discouraged by rejection. Even without an internship, I was eventually able to get my foot in the door of a company. Then, once I had experience, finding subsequent (better) jobs was a piece of cake. I also think today's job market is MUCH better than the one I faced as a graduate in the early 90's. Signing bonuses for college recruits was unheard of back then (it's a given today, from what I understand). ------------------
I'm about 2 years away, but I was looking at some classifieds and it seemed like 99.9% of the jobs required "real" job experience. How can one get this experience without first being hired? I'm assuming internships count, right? I better get on the ball fast. [This message has been edited by Smokey (edited July 18, 2001).]
